Since its inception, the Boruto manga has faced skepticism from fans of the original Naruto series, who often referred to it as a step down. This perception was largely because the anime adaptation was rife with anime-original and filler episodes.
Nevertheless, a dedicated fanbase remained optimistic, believing that the series would improve following the time skip. However, critics questioned whether this would truly come to pass, considering the previous pacing issues. Ultimately, the supporters of Boruto were vindicated as the narrative in the Two Blue Vortex manga took a notably intriguing turn.

The Triumph of Boruto Fans Post Time-Skip
With the launch of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, fans were captivated right from the first chapter. The revamped character designs after the time skip had fans buzzing with excitement, but it was Boruto’s evolution that truly had them enthralled.
The young ninja not only innovated a new variant of the “Rasengan,”called Rasengan Uzuhiko, but he also mastered the Flying Raijin Jutsu. To make things even more engaging, Boruto demonstrated his newfound strength by dispatching Code with relative ease—something unthinkable before the time skip.
In terms of character relationships, the manga presented an emotionally charged encounter between Boruto and Sarada Uchiha, who embraced him, expressing her strong feelings. Additionally, Mitsuki pursued Boruto, but the latter reassured him by highlighting his status as Boruto’s “Sun.”
The adversaries introduced in the Two Blue Vortex arc offered a more compelling experience compared to those from Naruto Next Generations. Notably, the sentient God Trees were designed after familiar characters, and viewers were thrilled by the way the God Trees singled out their targets. This arc also marked Shinki, Gaara’s son, as a significant player in the storyline once more.
Furthermore, the manga featured a stunning return of the Nine-Tailed Beast, Kurama. After his demise in the previous arc, he was surprisingly reincarnated in Himawari Uzumaki, enabling her to harness Kurama’s powers, even unleashing the Bijuu Bomb against the sentient God Tree, Jura.
An exciting addition to the storyline was the introduction of Kashin Koji’s Prescience ability, granting him foresight into future events. While the foreshadowing presented in the opening scene left fans scratching their heads, this power ultimately clarified many lingering questions. Ultimately, just a year after the manga’s debut, Boruto and Kawaki decided to join forces to tackle their shared enemy—the sentient God Trees.
In conclusion, while the delay in experiencing the benefits of the time skip was frustrating for some, it is evident that the manga fans emerged victorious in the end.
