Why Boruto’s Extended Discussion with Code in Two Blue Vortex was a Strategic Move, Explained

Despite being a battle between the main character and Code, the opening showdown of Boruto Two Blue Vortex stood out for its unconventional and peculiar nature. While the protagonist ultimately sealed the victory with a single jutsu technique, the fight spanned 3 chapters and consisted mostly of dialogue rather than physical combat.

In chapter 12 of the series, the protagonist explained that he needed to take some time to reload or recharge his Rasengan Uzuhiko against Hidari, the same move he used against Code. This prolonged the protagonist’s fight against Code as he kept him occupied in conversation, allowing him to reload his ultimate ability.

The events of Boruto Two Blue Vortex began with Code leading a raid on the Hidden Leaf Village in search of the protagonist, who had switched identities with Kawaki using Omnipotence. In an attempt to draw the protagonist out, Code targeted Sarada, but the protagonist suddenly appeared before Code could harm her.

Upon escaping from Sarada, the protagonist chooses not to immediately confront Code, but instead engages him in a discussion about how he could defeat him with one decisive move. The protagonist even offers Code the opportunity to reconsider his actions before becoming fully committed to the fight.

Despite the protagonist’s warnings, Code, the classic antagonist, continued to attack him relentlessly. The protagonist skillfully evaded each blow until he unleashed his signature move, the Rasengan Uzuhiko, harnessing the energy of the Earth’s rotation.

The protagonist dealt a blow to Code, rendering him ineffective on the battlefield. Surprisingly, the protagonist willingly prolonged the showdown. One could wonder if this was due to his pity for Code.

The cause for this turn of events, which was disclosed in chapter 12 of the series, was completely unrelated. Despite the protagonist’s efforts to save Sarada and avoid resorting to extreme measures, they found themselves in a difficult situation when they were confronted by Hidari and Jura. Despite their best efforts, the opposing side proved to be more formidable than anticipated.

Therefore, he opted to utilize the Rasengan Uzuhiko once more, but he made a crucial revelation about the technique’s limitations. Prior to executing it, Sarada, the protagonist, allowed him a moment to prepare. However, during this interval, he was unable to disengage his feet from the ground, thus relying on Sarada to battle on his behalf.

Despite not being able to fully reload his technique, the protagonist managed to strike Hidari with an incomplete Rasengan Uzuhiko. The attack was powerful enough to completely destroy the God Tree, showcasing both the incredible strength and deadly flaw of this jutsu technique.

Furthermore, this also clarifies the reason behind the protagonist’s decision to engage Code in a lengthy conversation – he was biding his time for his technique to charge up, in order to defeat the antagonist, similar to how he had handled Hidari.
