Why Buggy could be a descendant of the Nefartari family in One Piece, explored

One Piece chapter 1115, scheduled for release on May 27, 2024, may have hinted at Buggy being a member of the Nefartari family, similar to Vivy in the Arabasta Saga.

Additionally, the hint was not a significant detail in the episode, but rather a subtle tease in a visual from the Void Century depicting JoyBoy’s battle against the alliance of the 20 Kingdoms. Interestingly, one of the leaders of these kingdoms had a similar round nose to Buggy.

However, by taking a different viewpoint and linking various events from different arcs, it is possible to speculate that Buggy may be a member of the Nefartari family. This theory is supported by the contentious Levely incident and his resemblance to Vivi in terms of hair color.

In One Piece chapter 1115, the live stream of Vegapunk continued despite the ongoing efforts of the Five Elders to stop it. This chapter delved deeper into the history of JoyBoy, the first pirate to sail the Grand Line.

Vegapunk states that JoyBoy battled against the alliance of the 20 Kingdoms, who eventually joined forces and established the World Government, led by Imu. Tragically, JoyBoy perished in this clash, signifying the end of the Void Century according to Vegapunk.

Despite efforts from both fans and residents of the Grand Line, the Void Century remains a mysterious era. However, certain clues in the chapter caught the attention of fans, particularly the silhouette of an individual from the 20 Kingdoms.

In the panel featuring JoyBoy in his Nika form, fans were also able to see individuals from the 20 Kingdom alliance. One of these individuals had a round nose that bore a striking resemblance to the Pirate Clown, Buggy. This suggests that the figure shown in chapter 1114 may be Nefartari Lili’s sibling, potentially indicating that Buggy is a descendant of the Nefartari family.

However, labeling Buggy solely based on his association with the Nefartari family would be too extreme. Therefore, let’s explore additional clues about the Nefartari family.

The most apparent connection between Buggy and the Nefartari family is their shared hair color, which closely resembles that of Nefartari Vivi. It is also rumored that Nefartari Titi, Vivi’s mother, had blue hair. Therefore, this specific hair color may be indicative of a familial lineage within the Nefartari family.

Finally, the recent One Piece chapter 1085 showcased the meeting between Imu and King Cobra, where Imu disclosed that Nefartari D Lili’s mistake was the cause of the Poneglyphs being scattered across the globe. This pivotal event was also a major catalyst for the rise of the Pirate Era.

Therefore, it is widely believed that the Poneglyphs, which were crafted in the Kozuki clan’s native language, were not dispersed by Nefartari Vivi in their individual forms, but rather as one large block. This is a well-known fact among fans, as the Kozuki clan is credited with creating the Poneglyphs.

It is possible that Buggy’s devil fruit is also linked to the Nefartari clan. His Chop-Chop fruit enables him to separate and manipulate different parts of his body. Furthermore, the awakening of his fruit grants him the ability to use his chopping powers on others.

The ability to awaken could have been possessed by the ancestor of Nefartari, who had divided the Poneglyphs into separate pieces and scattered them throughout the world.

Final Thoughts

The Paw-Paw fruit, like the Chop-Chop fruit, is also said to be connected to the Nefartari family. It is currently possessed by former warlord Kuma, leading fans to speculate that the next person to inherit it will be Nefartari Vivi.

It has been speculated that the Paw-Paw fruit was the intended prize for the Native Hunting Competition of the Celestial Dragons, but there is a possibility that the Chop-Chop fruit was also included. However, it is important to approach this information with caution and wait for official confirmation.
