One particular mystery that has caught the attention of fans is Utahime’s scar. Many are intrigued by its sudden appearance and wonder how she acquired it.

Despite having a scar, Utahime remains one of the most renowned and beautiful characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. In an attempt to uncover the truth behind her scar, let us explore what we already know about Utahime.

Despite half of her face being horizontally scarred, the origin of Utahime’s wound remains a mystery as it was not mentioned in either the manga or the anime. This has led fans to come up with their own theories. However, when questioned about the significance of Utahime’s scar, the author of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, stated that it holds no significance.

Gege explained that it is common for Jujutsu sorcerers to acquire scars while performing their duties. This suggests that Utahime’s scar was likely obtained during her time as a Jujutsu sorcerer, possibly while on a mission.

Possible Causes of Utahime’s Scar

Reflecting on the events of Jujutsu Kaisen, it is clear that Utahime did not have her scar during the Hidden Inventory arc. This can be seen when she and Mei Mei are trapped in the haunted mansion and later rescued by Gojo, Geto, and Shoko. Despite the mission’s success, Utahime remains unharmed, indicating that she did not yet bear the scar at that time.

Since the Hidden Inventory arc occurred in 2006, and Utahime appears later in the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen during the Kyoto Goodwill Event arc, which takes place around 2018, it can be inferred that Utahime acquired her scar between 2006 and 2016, possibly while on a mission.

The probability of Utahime obtaining a scar in 2016 is low, as her scar appeared to be healed during the arc. This suggests that she must have acquired it prior to that time. Based on Gege Akutami’s statement, it can be inferred that Utahime must have obtained the scar during a previous mission or battle.

Fan Reactions to Utahime’s Scar

As we enjoy coming up with theories for unresolved enigmas, we have various explanations for Utahime’s scar. While some theories are logical, others are quite comical. We also have both serious and romantic theories.

Utahime, renowned for her selfless nature in protecting her loved ones, particularly her students, may have acquired the scar while attempting to save someone.

This is another one.

Some claim that Geto was responsible for giving Utahime the scar, but the truth of the matter is still unknown – or perhaps there was never any mystery to begin with.

How is Utahime an Important Character in JJK

Despite being a Grade 1 sorcerer and supervisor at Kyoto Jujutsu High, not much is known about Utahime in either the manga or anime. She is generally portrayed as a calm, kind, and lovely character, except when it comes to dealing with Gojo Satoru. Gojo takes great pleasure in provoking and irritating Utahime in every interaction.

As students, we witness Gojo constantly belittling Utahime and causing her annoyance. This dynamic continues throughout the Kyoto Goodwill Event arc and beyond. However, despite their conflicts, we also see them collaborate in uncovering the mole within the school.

Utahime possesses incredible strength as she is able to amplify her cursed energy and that of those around her. This allows her to reach a maximum effectiveness of nearly 120 percent. Additionally, she has the ability to create a protective curtain, which can conceal objects from the outside world.
