Why Gojo’s Influence May Be Causing Sukuna’s Shifting Domain in Jujutsu Kaisen: An Analysis

As the Jujutsu Kaisen manga nears its conclusion, there have been numerous unexpected events unfolding. Among them is the continuously shifting appearance of Ryomen Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine domain. Although it is renowned as one of the most powerful domains, it appears to be weakening with each passing moment.

The previous chapter of the manga unveiled Yuta Okkotsu’s utilization of Kenjaku’s Cursed Technique to take control of Satoru Gojo’s body. This granted him access to Gojo’s Six Eyes and the ability to activate his Domain Unlimited Void to confront Sukuna. However, Sukuna also initiated his own domain simultaneously, resulting in a potential stalemate between the two sorcerers.

Jujutsu Kaisen: How Gojo’s Unlimited Void Affects Sukuna’s Ever-Changing Domain

Ever since the beginning of the Shinjuku Showdown Arc in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Ryomen Sukuna has repeatedly activated his Malevolent Shrine domain. Nonetheless, it appears that his domain has begun to deteriorate gradually.

This is due to the fact that his previous two Malevolent Shrines bore little resemblance to the original appearance of the domain. There was no shrine present; instead, the entire area behind Sukuna had a disturbing and ominous aura.

After seeing this, a Reddit user who goes by u/Independent_King7606 and is a fan of Jujutsu Kaisen, inquired about the significance of Sukuna’s constantly shifting domain. Other fans then provided explanations, pointing out how Gojo’s Unlimited Void had affected Sukuna’s mind and altered the appearance of the Malevolent Shrine.

It seems that the King of Curses was unable to summon his original Malevolent Shrine after being harmed by Unlimited Void. This was due to the impact on the “pathways in his brain,”which resulted in him making a Binding Vow. As a result, a different part of his brain was responsible for executing Domain Expansion.

The development enabled Sukuna to manifest the Malevolent Shrine, albeit with a time limit. This explains why he can now perform his Domain Expansions with just one hand instead of two.

Therefore, it is certain that Ryomen Sukuna still remains at a disadvantage against the deceased Satoru Gojo, who is considered the Strongest Sorcerer. This has allowed the Jujutsu Sorcerers to continue exerting pressure on the King of Curses.

With this in consideration, there is also the potential for Ryomen Sukuna to face even harsher repercussions as a result of the harm to his brain. This outcome could potentially aid the Jujutsu Sorcerers in their battle against the King of Curses.

Based on the purported spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262, it appears that Sukuna has emerged victorious against Yuta Okkotsu. As a result, it is likely that another Jujutsu Sorcerer will have to step in to continue the battle. It is hoped that Rika Orimoto’s complete manifestation will offer some assistance to the sorcerers in their confrontation.
