Due to a bug, Riot Games has declared that Clove, Valorant’s latest agent, will not be permitted for use in professional play at this time.
Clove joined the Valorant lineup on March 26, 2024 and was anticipated to become available for professional play before VCT Masters Shanghai. However, due to an issue, Riot has revealed through the Valorant Champions Tour X account that the agent will not be playable for the time being.
According to the statement, the agent was originally scheduled to participate in Week 2 of Stage 1. However, we are currently working diligently to ensure their availability as soon as possible, and will provide an update on their playability in the near future.

Why is Clove disabled in VCT?
Riot Games did not disclose the specific bug responsible for the agent’s delayed entry into the VCT pool. However, there has been speculation that the issue may be related to her smoke ability, as it appears to be out of sync with its casting animation on the latest patch.
Riot is aware of the bug, whether it is the one fans are speculating about or another undiscovered issue. As a result, it is expected to be fixed in the next update. Considering the developer’s typical update schedule, players can anticipate a new patch to be released around April 9.
Despite the anticipation of fans for the agent’s debut in the hands of professional players, Clove’s expert opinion is that they are not particularly valuable at the highest level.
The Duelist-Controller hybrid has been dominating in solo queue ever since its debut, but in a more organized setting, there are superior choices for teams to consider.
Is Clove enabled in VCT?
Revealed on April 16 during the second week of the regional league’s Stage 1 tournament, it has been confirmed that Clove will now be available for VCT following the resolution of the bug.
From week 3 of Stage 1 onwards, teams will have the freedom to choose clove for their matches, potentially leading to its debut on the professional stage.
