During the current season, Blizzard developers have temporarily disabled Diablo 4’s Gauntlet mode – here’s the reason behind their decision.
The Gauntlet, a challenging endgame content, was released in early March 2024 as part of the mid-season refresh for Season 3. This game mode in Diablo 4 is driven by leaderboards and presents players with rotating dungeon challenges on a weekly basis.
Despite the anticipation for Season 4, players were disappointed when the Week 10 challenges did not go live. Instead, those who attempted to access the mode were greeted with a message stating, “Trials have ended for this week.”
In the midst of the confusion, a Blizzard developer clarified the situation and expressed remorse for the lack of clarity.
Why is Diablo 4’s Gauntlet Mode Not Available?
In a recent post on the Blizzard Forums, Diablo Community Manager Adam Fletcher, also known as PezRadar, provided an explanation for why the Gauntlet did not receive an update on the expected date of Tuesday, May 7. According to Fletcher, Gauntlets for both Season 3 and future seasons will no longer take place during the final week.
This is due to the fact that the last week of the season will have added complications as it winds down before the start of every new season.
Furthermore, Fletcher expressed his regret for not providing updates to the community regarding the issue. However, players of Diablo 4 can anticipate the return of challenges during the initial week of Season 4, as it is still on schedule to launch on its planned date of Tuesday, May 14.
