The Connection Between the New AI Cat TikTok Trend and Billie Eilish

Numerous videos of AI-generated cats have been circulating on TikTok, featuring adorable apparel and aesthetics, as well as creative depictions of well-known feline characters like Garfield. As of now, the AI-generated cat tag boasts over 140 million videos.

Despite its unique features, this latest trend of cat-related material stands out due to its use of a remixed rendition of Billie Eilish’s Academy Award-winning track “What Was I Made For?”

The original lyrics of the song have been completely discarded and replaced with “meows” that match the melody. While Rihanna’s “Diamonds” and Sia’s “Unstoppable” have also been given this treatment, it does not compare to the level of success achieved by Eilish’s 2023 hit.

Out of all the AI-generated cats showcased in this latest trend, the most well-known character, affectionately referred to as “Chubby”, has amassed millions of views on the app through various videos posted by the account mpwild.

In the videos, Chubby and his “son”Chubby Jr. go through periods of homelessness and house fires. In one particular video, they even manage to endure a pigeon kidnapping.

Ever since mpwild’s first video was posted, it has attracted over 50 million views. Each subsequent post has also garnered millions of views, with one even reaching the impressive milestone of 80 million views.

Additionally, the cat remix version of the song “What Aas I Made For” has been featured in more than 930,000 TikTok videos, and this number is expected to continue increasing in the future.
