The question of why Yuji Itadori is so powerful in Jujutsu Kaisen has been a frequently asked question by fans since the beginning of mangaka Gege Akutami’s series. Despite the uncertainty surrounding Yuji’s abilities, fans have still greatly enjoyed the manga. This question has persisted throughout the majority of the series.
Nevertheless, the latest installments of Jujutsu Kaisen have at last started addressing this inquiry, thanks to a flashback centered on Sukuna and Uraume that sheds light on Yuji’s origins.
Although the details of why Yuji Itadori is so strong were not explicitly revealed, fans were able to piece together information from this flashback that ultimately answered this longstanding question.
Why does Yuji Itadori possess superhuman strength in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Recently, it has been revealed to fans that Yuji Itadori is the son of Ryomen Sukuna’s reincarnated soul, who had consumed his twin brother in the womb, as depicted in Jujutsu Kaisen.
Yuji’s physical abilities were further enhanced when his mother Kenjaku, who was inhabiting Kaori Itadori’s body, turned him into a Death Painting Womb. There is speculation that Yuji had already “consumed”some of Sukuna’s fingers during his birth, which was facilitated by Kenjaku in the form of Kaori Itadori.
From this point on, the story progresses as fans witness Yuji consuming his “first”Sukuna finger and multiple others. He receives training from Gojo, consumes the remaining Death Painting Wombs, and becomes immersed in Sukuna’s Cursed Energy. Furthermore, he is mentored by others through body swapping.
This culmination ultimately contributes to his present-day strength as a fighter, and it can be traced back to his birth and natural physical abilities as mentioned earlier.
Is Yuji stronger than Satoru Gojo?
When considering Yuji’s abilities as a sorcerer, it is doubtful that he is currently stronger than Satoru Gojo.
Despite Gojo’s belief in Yuji’s potential to surpass him in Jujutsu Kaisen, it is difficult to definitively say that he has achieved this thus far. However, if Yuji were to defeat Sukuna with the help of his allies, it would likely solidify his surpassing of Gojo, especially if he were the one to land the finishing blow.
Despite Gojo’s mastery of Cursed Energy, Yuji has likely already surpassed him in terms of physical strength. This is due to Yuji’s combination of raw physical strength and his newfound ability to use Cursed Energy to further enhance it, which Gojo would not be able to match using Cursed Energy enhancement alone.
A useful measure to take into account in this situation is the inclusion of Miguel, who was believed to be an exception among sorcerers due to his physique and muscularity.
Despite Gojo’s admission that Miguel would defeat him in a fight solely based on physical strength and Cursed Energy enhancement, it is highly probable that Yuji has already surpassed Gojo in this aspect, given his anomalous physical strength similar to Miguel’s.
Can Yuji Itadori Surpass His Feet?
Moreover, the goal of surpassing Gojo is not the only one, as there is also the aspiration to overcome the greatest sorcerer in history and ultimate antagonist Ryomen Sukuna.
Despite Yuji’s continuous efforts to overcome this ultimate obstacle in the latest issues of the series, it has proven to be quite a challenging feat. While Yuji’s powers do provide him with certain advantages over Sukuna, it is Sukuna’s unyielding determination and seemingly miraculous abilities that are currently keeping him in the battle, in addition to his own powers.
Uraume’s comments on Yuji’s origins are a crucial piece of evidence that strongly supports the notion of him surpassing Sukuna. They raise the question of whether Yuji could ever reach Sukuna’s level.
Although Uraume and Sukuna have neither confirmed nor denied this potential, Akutami is strongly implying that it exists within Yuji. In simpler terms, all the evidence points to the possibility that Yuji could surpass Sukuna by the end of the series.
