Why isn’t My Hero Academia Chapter 421 released this week?

Despite it being the scheduled release week for My Hero Academia Chapter 421, it did not arrive. However, there is an explanation for this.

Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia is currently in the midst of its Final War Arc. As the title suggests, the ongoing plot of the manga centers on the intense battle between the heroic characters and the villainous alliance led by Tomura Shigaraki and All For One.

Since the start of the arc, the manga has progressively become darker with each subsequent chapter. Most recently, it showcased the horrific instance of Deku suffering the loss of both his arms to Tenko’s Decay. Additionally, the manga has reintroduced All For One who appears to have taken permanent control of Shigaraki’s body.

Despite the resolution of Deku’s amputation and the return of his arms with the assistance of Eri’s horn in the previous chapter, My Hero Academia Chapter 421 is sure to bring more excitement as our hero is back in peak condition. However, fans will have to wait a little longer to find out why the chapter has been delayed.

Possible Reasons for Delay of My Hero Academia Chapter 421

The release of My Hero Academia Chapter 421 has been postponed due to the monthly hiatus that the manga takes according to its schedule.

Similar to other weekly manga, My Hero Academia also includes a break each month. This allows the author to have a break from the demanding workload they consistently encounter. The manga follows a pattern of taking a break after three consecutive chapters.

The My Hero Academia creator’s health issues last year were a result of his demanding schedule, leading to a longer hiatus. Therefore, these breaks are crucial.

Following the release of Chapters 418, 419, and 420, My Hero Academia will be on a one-week hiatus before Chapter 421. As a result, the next chapter will be available on April 28. In the United States, the chapter will be released at 7am Pacific Time (PT). However, spoilers for the chapter will likely be leaked online days before the official release date.

In the upcoming Chapter 421, the battle between AFO and the students of U.A. will commence as Deku’s arms begin to regenerate. With the addition of Aizawa and his students to the fight, Deku’s chances of defeating AFO and reconnecting with Shigaraki are greatly improved.

However, with all the other Quirks of the past users of One For All now transferred to Shigaraki’s body, it is uncertain what AFO will do with them.

The return of My Hero Academia is just around the corner. Alternatively, you might be interested in our perspective on the identities of Best Jeanist and Dabi.
