Despite the intense stage of the battle, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 was surprisingly short. The second round of the ‘Battle of the Strongest’ has commenced with Gojo Satoru’s return, now accompanied by Yuta Okkotsu.
The two sorcerers have once again clashed in a Domain battle of immense scale. Both are evenly matched in skill and strategic thinking. However, Ryomen Sukuna has discovered a way to circumvent Gojo’s Limitless, dealing a powerful blow to his opponent’s face.
Despite the second commencement of this battle, doubts have arisen about Yuji Itadori’s future involvement. With the return of Gojo(Yuta), there is a shared apprehension that Yuji may no longer play a significant role in the ultimate showdown. However, this is unlikely to be true.

Why Yuji Might Still Have a Role in the Sukuna Battle: Analysis of Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 262
Despite initial worries from the fandom that Yuji was being written off in the final stages of the ‘Battle of the Strongest’ in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262, it becomes evident that this is not the case. In fact, this chapter only solidifies Yuji’s importance in defeating Sukuna and solidifying his role as a crucial piece in the puzzle.
Despite being severely weakened, Sukuna’s latest display of Jujutsu skills was a testament to his expertise. He not only held his own against Gojo (Yuta), but also quickly countered the white-haired sorcerer’s Limitless ability with Amplification.
The events in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262 are concerning, as the return of Gojo(Yuta) is seen as the Jujutsu High sorcerers’ trump card. However, this also highlights Yuji’s significance in the ultimate battle, and rightfully so. Despite Gojo(Yuta)’s reappearance, it will ultimately be Yuji who defeats the King of Curses.
In the past, Sukuna had been consistently taken aback by Yuji’s abilities. The Reverse Cursed Technique in particular caught the attention of the Demon King. And once again, Yuji proved to be the most effective in harming Sukuna with his relentless barrage of 8 Black Flashes. The King of Curses was also shocked by Yuji’s utilization of Blood Manipulation.
Despite having witnessed Choso’s death, his spirits were lifted by the arrival of Todo. With his pink-haired companion by his side, the teenager showed no mercy against Sukuna and was determined to rip his heart out.
The evidence suggests that Yuji Itadori will emerge victorious in his battle against Sukuna. His growth and progress leading up to this confrontation has been focused on defeating the Demon King. He has exceeded all expectations and it would be a waste if it did not result in his ultimate triumph.
Final Thoughts
In chapter 262 of Jujutsu Kaisen, it is evident why Yuji Itadori is truly the protagonist of the series. Despite facing numerous tough challenges, he has consistently shown remarkable growth in a relatively short amount of time, setting him apart from the rest of the characters.
Despite being intended as the main protagonist alongside Yuji, Yuta’s participation in the ongoing battle has been inconsistent. His attempt to take control of Gojo may have been a bold move, but it did not prove effective against Sukuna. Furthermore, there is a possibility that he may be permanently trapped in his sensei’s body, causing Rika’s distress as seen in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 262.
Aside from that, this presents the perfect opportunity for a Gojo(Yuta)-Yuji-Todo team-up, something that has never been seen before in Jujutsu Kaisen. Fans may finally have the chance to witness a student and sensei (sort of) joining forces.
