Why Jura’s Group Gaining Shinjutsu Immunity Would Be the Worst Choice for Boruto

In the realm of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, the Shinju have emerged as formidable adversaries, showcasing a range of skills such as employing tailed beast bombs and utilizing the Black Band portals, a technique primarily associated with Code.

Jura’s extraordinary strength has been well-documented through his interactions with various opponents, while Mamumshi’s capability to sense and counter Eida’s Omnipotence presents intriguing plot difficulties.

Many battle shonen series feature a dominant antagonist that the main character must eventually confront. However, this trope can sometimes be overdone, leading to illogical resolutions for these powerful foes. This has notably occurred in both Naruto and Bleach, particularly with the contentious defeats of characters like Madara and Yhwach.

Boruto Two Blue Vortex: The Shinju’s Immunity to Shinjutsu Could Result in an Unsatisfactory Conclusion

Introduced in Chapter 4 of the Blue Vortex manga, the Shinju are characterized as the personification of the divine tree, a crucial element that has threaded through nearly every significant plot event from the Naruto saga. The divine tree itself traces its roots back to the Ten Tails, which is essentially its sapling.

This divine tree acts as a mechanism for harvesting chakra, drawing energy from an entire planet to produce chakra fruit that grants substantial enhancements when consumed by an Otsutsuki. The repeated consumption of these fruits across various worlds has evidently played a key role in Shibai Otsutsuki’s transformation into a being of godlike status, indirectly leading to the origins of Shinjutsu, including Eida’s omnipotence, which catalyzed the events of Boruto Part 2.

Mamushi, a Shinju inspired by Bug, demonstrated the ability to perceive Eida while she utilized her omnipotence to eavesdrop on the Shinju’s dialogue, suggesting that the Shinju may have evolved to resist, or even become fully immune to Shinjutsu.

Currently, the narrative focus centers on Kawaki and key figures like Kashin Koji, Eida, and Daemon, all of whom have powers rooted in Shinjutsu or variants thereof.

If the primary adversaries possess total immunity to one of the series’ core power structures, it may compel the introduction of an entirely new system or ability to confront them effectively, reminiscent of Yhwach’s situation in the Bleach universe.

Yhwach’s overwhelming abilities eventually made him virtually unbeatable, with his defeat occurring through a deus ex machina solution that many fans regard as an unsatisfactory narrative choice.

The Shinju’s resistance to Shinjutsu can logically be understood, as the divine tree is the origin of both godhood and Shinjutsu. However, if they are entirely immune, it could diminish the significance of several power enhancements documented throughout the series, potentially presenting a narrative challenge that might require a similar deus ex machina intervention to rectify.

Conclusion

The upcoming Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 16, set for release on November 20, 2024, will provide insights into the Shinju’s capabilities and the protagonists’ next moves after the alliance with Kawaki.

As of now, the full range of the Shinju’s powers remains largely undisclosed, given their enigmatic presence and the absence of significant battles.
