Why Juul’s Class Action Lawsuit Payouts Are Going Viral: The Surprising Reasons

Payouts from Juul’s substantial $300 million settlement are now being distributed, leaving users astounded across social media platforms.

This class action lawsuit, initiated in 2023, contended that consumers paid inflated prices for Juul products, unaware of their highly addictive nature.

According to the lawsuit documentation, “Plaintiffs assert that they incurred higher costs for JUUL products than they would have if they had received truthful information regarding the addictiveness and safety of these products. Additionally, the lawsuit claims that JUUL products were improperly marketed to minors.”

The lawsuit enabled participants to claim refunds for purchases made before December 7, 2022. While such settlements typically yield minimal returns for individuals, Juul customers are surprising many with the amounts they have received.

In the Juul subreddit, one user reported receiving $9,200 from the settlement, while another received $7,680, a third user reported $1,300, and others have received amounts in the hundreds.

On TikTok, numerous users have shared their experiences regarding the substantial payouts, with videos trending across the platform.

One user exclaimed, “POV: you just got $3k via Venmo from a class action lawsuit against JUUL that you forgot you applied for two years ago as a joke in college.” This video alone has garnered over 600,000 views.

Although significant payouts from class action lawsuits like Juul’s are uncommon, such legal actions are frequently seen across the United States.
