Why Karui could be an Uzumaki in Naruto, Explored

Although Karui from Naruto is married to Choji Akimichi and hails from the Hidden Cloud Village, she is a character that often goes unnoticed by fans. This may be because she lacks a notable jutsu technique that would capture their interest.

However, her crimson red hair may not just be intriguing, but it could also connect her to one of the most influential clans in the Hidden Leaf Village.

It is logical to assume that she may be one of the descendants of the Uzumaki clan, known for their distinctive crimson hair, as her origins have not yet been disclosed.

Karui, a member of Team Samui from the Hidden Cloud Village, served under the Fourth Raikage. Omoi and Samui were also members of her team. At the Five Kage Summit, Karui attacked Naruto in an attempt to gather information about Sasuke Uchiha and his whereabouts.

Despite the challenges, the protagonist remained determined to find a peaceful solution. Eventually, she joined the Fourth Great Ninja War and became ensnared in the Infinite Tsukuyomi. After the protagonist and Sasuke successfully vanquished Kaguya Otsutsuki, she was freed along with the other individuals who had been ensnared in the powerful genjutsu.

The period between the end of the war and the start of the Boruto series, known as the Blank Period, was further delved into through the light novels, Sasuke Shinden and Sakura Hiden. These novels revealed that from their first encounter, Choji had a strong interest in the kunoichi and regularly visited her in the Hidden Cloud Village.

Ever since the beginning of the new era, Karui made the decision to move to the Hidden Leaf Village. She became a member of the Akimichi clan and tied the knot with Choji. Together, they had a daughter named Chocho Akimichi, who was a proud member of the next generation of InoShikaCho. One notable aspect that captivated fans about this kunoichi was her striking crimson red hair, a defining characteristic of the Uzumaki clan.

Despite being introduced as a member of the Hidden Cloud Village, her origins remain a mystery. The Hidden Cloud Village has a reputation for attempting to steal bloodline abilities, similar to their failed attempt to take the Byakugan.

It is possible that one of Karui’s parents was a member of the Uzumaki clan who was taken by the Hidden Cloud Village from the Hidden Leaf Village. This would mean that she shares the same lineage as the main protagonist.

Final thoughts

Although it is merely speculation, this theory was derived from a plothole left by the author, Masashi Kishimoto. While it is true that the Uzumaki clan is known for their crimson red hair, they also possess other distinct characteristics.

Despite not having the same abilities as her fellow Uzumaki clan members Kushina and Mito, Karui possessed impressive lightning chakra. However, it is possible that she may have had sealing jutsu capabilities and a vast reserve of chakra that were not shown in the anime/manga. Therefore, it is important to approach this information with caution.
