This youthful sorcerer is certainly a character many find easy to dislike, and while some point to his treatment of women as a primary reason, there are numerous factors that contribute to his unpopularity.

Upon his introduction in Jujutsu Kaisen, Naoya immediately struck viewers as an abhorrent individual, showing virtually no redeeming traits. While some fans suggest that Akutami intentionally designed Naoya to appear pathetic, this choice undermined his image and perceived threat.

It’s noteworthy that Naoya was intended to be Maki Zen’in’s primary rival during the Culling Games arc, yet he never established himself as a genuine threat. His lack of substantial or sympathetic characterization leaves fans facing nothing more than a boastful character who cannot substantiate his bravado.
