With the onset of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, readers have been captivated by a succession of innovative jutsu that the titular character can now wield, especially following the notable time skip. Among these techniques, the standout is undoubtedly the Rasengan Uzuhiko. However, recent developments hint that this move may not hold the top spot for long.
The mechanics of the Rasengan Uzuhiko are fascinating—it harnesses the rotational forces of the planet to create a disorienting effect on its target. When executed with moderate intensity, this jutsu can leave opponents in a state of perpetual instability. In stark contrast, when unleashed at full power, it possesses the potential to completely obliterate its target.
Nonetheless, flashbacks within the manga suggest that Boruto might be on the verge of learning an even more potent jutsu.
Warning: The following section contains spoilers for the Boruto manga.
Foreshadowing a New Jutsu for Boruto
In early chapters of Two Blue Vortex, it’s highlighted that Boruto underwent training with Sasuke Uchiha for approximately a year. This period was cut short when Boruto encountered a Claw Grime and succumbed to being transformed into a tree. Interestingly, during that limited timeframe, Sasuke imparted a significant amount of his combat knowledge to Boruto.
Moreover, it’s noteworthy that Boruto has mastery over three chakra natures: Wind, Water, and Lightning. This versatility enables him to utilize nearly all of Sasuke’s Lightning-based jutsu, with the sole exception of the renowned Chidori.
We must also consider that while Sasuke favored the Lightning release, his primary chakra affinity was Fire due to his Uchiha lineage. This opens the door to the possibility that Sasuke might have taught Boruto how to manipulate Fire chakra. If this theory holds, Boruto could potentially master a range of Fire jutsu.
The most significant candidate among these jutsu is the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique. On its own, this technique may not demonstrate overwhelming power; however, it can serve as a catalyst for Boruto’s most formidable Lightning jutsu, Kirin. As illustrated in the series, Sasuke successfully utilized the Great Fireball Technique to generate storm clouds charged with Lightning, allowing him to seize control of natural Lightning for his assault.
Additionally, recent anime ending themes have hinted at Boruto tapping into Fire release techniques. An intriguing detail is that the animation featured markings resembling those of Sage Mode around Boruto’s eyes.
Considering that Kashin Koji has also acted as a mentor to Boruto, it is plausible that he might gain access to Sage Mode abilities. While the manga has yet to provide extensive insights into this potential evolution, the combination of Sage Mode with Fire release could yield a jutsu far surpassing the Rasengan Uzuhiko in potency.
Ultimately, if Boruto manages to harness such a technique, it could render the Rasengan Uzuhiko obsolete for the foreseeable future.
