In order to safeguard their machines, large companies frequently implement stringent security protocols. They utilize specialized software, similar to an advanced Anti-Virus, to ensure their protection. A widely used solution, known as Crowdstrike Falcon, is employed by businesses worldwide to defend against any potential harm to their computer systems.
Despite this, systems running Crowdstrike Agents are facing an issue that results in the Windows Blue Screen of Death.

After receiving reports of crashes on Windows hosts related to the Falcon Sensor, Crowdstrike has taken action by issuing an update to their customers. According to a transcript shared on Hacker News, the company stated: “CrowdStrike is aware of these crashes and is actively working on a solution.” The portal further explains the issue, stating that affected hosts may experience a blue screen error associated with the Falcon Sensor.
The company has stated that their Engineering teams are currently working to resolve the reported issue.
There is potential for a resolution to be implemented remotely, which would ultimately resolve the ongoing issue that has caused significant consequences worldwide. Ryanair, an airline company, has acknowledged a “3rd party IT issue”as the cause of their current struggles, while British news network, Sky News, has been forced to shut down due to the same issue.
The response on social media provides valuable information on the extent of those impacted, as there have been reports of Airports experiencing disruptions and game developers facing similar issues. Even Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai expressed surprise about the incident on X (formerly known as Twitter).
A technical issue has resulted in the cancellation of a United Airlines flight. The problem has also affected Delta Airlines in Atlanta, causing disruptions to emergency services according to posts on Social Media by users like jmcgough.
According to Downdetector, there have been widespread reports of major global services, such as Microsoft 365, experiencing issues, likely due to the Crowdstrike BSOD problems.
System Administrators React to Crowdstrike Falcon Error
On Hacker News, users expressed their opinions about the issue, with one person stating, “…an application should not have the ability to cause such harm to an operating system.”
“Another person mentions that their husband is a deputy in California and that his department, along with several others such as police departments, jails, and ambulance companies, are also experiencing downtime.”
The magnitude of the problem is currently hard to grasp, as evidenced by the ongoing activity and discussions on the /r/crowdstrike subreddit about the specific individuals or entities that have been impacted.
There is much speculation about which version of Crowdstrike is responsible. “Does anyone know if there is a specific version causing this issue? We recently rolled out version 7.15.18513.0, just two days ago. EDIT: This is the version that is causing BSOD for us.”
Another individual remarks: “It’s a complete disaster. If even one mistake is made during implementation, my entire workforce of 80,000 employees is unable to continue their work.”
