Widespread YouTuber Channel Terminations and Strikes Reported Without Warning

YouTube is currently facing backlash from creators as numerous users report unexpected bans and strikes on their channels. This surge in terminations follows incidents of wrongful account suspensions attributed to the platform’s artificial intelligence moderation system.

On November 3, 2025, Tech YouTuber Enderman took to X to express frustration over the termination of several of his accounts, which collectively boasted hundreds of thousands of subscribers. He explained that YouTube mistakenly linked his channel to another that had faced termination due to three copyright strikes. Fortunately, after 24 hours, Enderman’s account was restored.

Rising Reports of Channel Bans and Copyright Strikes

Just two days later, on November 7, numerous YouTubers reported similar experiences, indicating a troubling pattern. For instance, content creator ThatStarWarsGirl shared her dismay on X after receiving a strike for a video featuring a clip of Kathleen Kennedy’s face—an image she had used for years without issue.“Last week, you flagged me for ‘sexual content’ of a clip of Kathleen Kennedy’s face. And now you STRIKE ME!? This is absurd; please rectify this immediately!” she pleaded.

Despite her efforts to appeal the first warning, she claimed her request was swiftly denied. YouTube did respond to her post, yet the conversation was subsequently moved to direct messages without a clear resolution.

In another case, creator Shaun Young circulated a screenshot indicating that his channel had been abruptly removed for “severe or repeated violations” concerning YouTube’s spam, deceptive practices, and scams policy.

A third user was equally critical of YouTube’s AI moderation system, highlighting its inability to provide a clear rationale for the termination of his account.“I’ve never received a strike or warning, ” he stated, adding that when he sought clarification regarding the policy violation, he was informed that support personnel were “prohibited from sharing the exact reason.” This suggests that even human reviewers under the AI framework lack critical information about the terminations.
