Will Solo Leveling Season 2 Address Season 1’s Issues?

Despite the awesome voice acting and high-quality animation, Season 1 of Solo Leveling was ultimately disappointing. This was mainly due to the rushed feeling caused by the abrupt scene changes in each episode.

The first season of Solo Leveling primarily focused on the growth of Sung Jinwoo. The producer has since announced that the second season will carry on with the same storyline, but with a greater emphasis on the supporting characters and their past, providing viewers with a deeper understanding of the world of Solo Leveling.

If this turns out to be true, there could be more information revealed about Cha Hae-in, Hwang Dongsoo, Woo-Jinchul, and Yoo Jinho. However, the most intriguing possibility is the potential for further insight into Sung Jinwoo’s mother and her illness. As shown in Season 1, Sung became a hunter to finance her treatment and his sister’s education, and season 2 may delve deeper into this pivotal aspect of the storyline.

Despite everything, we cannot overlook the moment in episode 5 when he was forced to eliminate Hwang Dongsuk and his companions. As a result, we witnessed his younger brother’s intentions to come back to Japan from the U.S. with the purpose of avenging Sung’s actions.

Overall, the second season is expected to elevate the series to new heights, with improved animation and a focus on developing the side characters. This will enhance the overall storytelling of the plot. However, it remains uncertain how closely they will follow the source material from the manwha and if the second season will remain faithful to it.

Solo Leveling

The source material for this work is the web novel I Alone Level Up, which was published by Kakaopage in South Korea and Piccoma in Japan. The series concluded in December 2021 and has been compiled into 14 volumes.

The emergence of portals between the Earth and realms filled with monsters has allowed hunters to defeat these dangerous creatures. Despite belonging to the lowest level of hunters, Sung Jin Woo becomes involved in a Dungeon quest that grants him the ability to see quests similar to those found in a video game.

His quest to achieve ultimate strength as a hunter and restore harmony to Earth commences.
