The aristocratic gangster series has just arrived and it offers a complete adventure, but which seems to leave room for a sequel. Will we have a season 2 of The Gentlemen?
The world of English gangsters has always been Guy Ritchie’s favorite sector, and this time the director has signed an eight-episode series for Netflix. The format thus allowed him to return to the world he had created for the 2020 film The Gentlemen, and to explore every corner with greater care.
We were introduced to Eddie Horniman, an aristocrat who had just inherited the title of duke and the lands that came with it, only to discover that his father had entered into a long-term deal with drug traffickers. Forced to cooperate, the Duke will have to maneuver between different spheres of English society.
The finale of The Gentlemen offers a thoroughly satisfying conclusion, but it seems to leave enough room for a sequel. So, will there be a season 2 of the series on Netflix?
Will there be a season 2 of The Gentlemen on Netflix?
At this point, Netflix has no plans to make a season 2 of The Gentlemen, but the cast appears to be up for another round.
Even before The Gentlemen was released on March 7, it was announced that Guy Ritchie would be working on another project for the small screen, this time for Paramount+. It will be a spin-off from the Ray Donovan universe, according to a report from Variety. The director’s attention could therefore well be monopolized elsewhere, especially since he will be attached to the project as director and showrunner.
All eight episodes of The Gentlemen have been available on Netflix since March 7, 2024.
