The prospect of Logan’s clone, Laura aka X-23, returning for Deadpool & Wolverine begs the question: will she also receive a superhero costume?
Ever since Wolverine’s debut on the big screen in 2000, fans have been eagerly anticipating the inclusion of his iconic blue-and-yellow costume in Deadpool & Wolverine. Finally, this long-awaited look has been added and it is something that fans have been longing for.
As we have learned, a more mature Laura will also be making a comeback, causing speculation about whether she will also don her iconic comic book suit. While it has yet to be confirmed, it appears to be a potential outcome.
Dafne Keen hinted at the possibility of Laura having a costume during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. She shared, “Before shooting anything for Deadpool, I underwent stunt training and tried on the costume. It was then that I realized, ‘Oh! She’s back.’”Although this could be in reference to the outfit shown in the trailer.
What costumes has Laura worn?
Laura’s initial outfit consisted of the typical “non-costumes”that many X-Men wore during the 2000s. Her attire usually consisted of plain black pants and a tank top, with the occasional addition of a mask when she worked with Logan in X-Force.
Despite Wolverine’s death, the character underwent a major transformation. She embraced her role as the daughter of her clone father and became the new Wolverine in the Marvel Universe. Along with this new title, she also received a modernized version of Wolverine’s iconic blue-and-yellow costume.
Following Logan’s death, Laura became Marvel’s Wolverine, complete with a new costume.
Laura eventually switched to a black-and-gray version before completely abandoning it for a few years after Wolverine’s revival. However, in the Krakoa era, she has fully embraced the look once again and has taken on the role of Wolverine alongside her resurrected father figure.
Although Laura may not have the same number of costumes to choose from as Logan, her costumes are equally iconic. The release of Deadpool & Wolverine on July 26 will determine if she will receive her own MCU supersuit.
