Wind Breaker chapter 155, titled “Oath”, opened with Takiishi reflecting on his life through a flashback. He categorized people into two types: those he needed to eliminate and those who provided him with what he desired.

During his journey, Takiishi often overlooked most individuals until he encountered two key figures: Endo, who supplied him with what he cherished, and Umemiya, who consistently blocked his path. This conflict marked the first instance where Takiishi felt genuinely challenged by someone else’s presence.

As the chapter progressed, Takiishi managed to knock Umemiya out, prompting Endo to cheer for Takiishi’s resurgence, declaring it the ultimate finale for Umemiya. However, Takiishi felt something was amiss and confirmed to Umemiya, by name, that he hadn’t experienced such satisfaction in quite some time.

This unexpected admission shocked Endo, who had never witnessed Takiishi refer to anyone by name. Sakura, observing the situation, maintained her conviction that Umemiya’s battle was far from over.

Recalling Umemiya’s prior declaration that he would never yield, no matter how arduous the journey, Wind Breaker chapter 155 shifted focus back to Umemiya, who began to rise once more.

Umemiya took his place across from Takiishi, sharing a knowing smile with Sakura. Endo was left speechless as he witnessed Umemiya’s return, realizing that this resilience was expected from someone who had been a part of Takiishi’s world.

Takiishi’s demeanor brightened as the two locked eyes. Umemiya openly acknowledged that Takiishi had gotten under his skin, but he was determined not to let the match end in defeat. He proposed that if he triumphed, Takiishi would recount his life story.

Takiishi casually remarked how annoying Umemiya was, reminiscent of their days with Furin. To everyone’s surprise, Takiishi accepted Umemiya’s challenge, a rare occurrence, as Endo noted Takiishi’s usual refusal to negotiate. However, Takiishi then asked what the stakes would be if he were to win.

In a bold response, Umemiya stated he would expect nothing, exuding confidence that victory would be his in this intense showdown.
