Episode 2 of Wind Breaker opens with the arrival of Akihiko Nirei, who coincidentally meets Sakura as they both enter Kotoha Tachibana’s cafe to grab breakfast before their school’s entrance ceremony. The second episode of Wind Breaker starts with Haruka Sakura visiting Kotoha Tachibana’s shop, with an elderly lady on his back. This results in a tsundere moment between the two, but the elderly woman expresses her gratitude towards Sakura. Tachibana then offers Sakura some food before he leaves to attend his entrance ceremony.

Despite the fact that it doesn’t start until the afternoon, she questions why he’s out so early, which exposes Sakura’s enthusiasm for the event. Kotoha mentions to him that there are numerous intriguing guys at the high school, and at that moment, one of those individuals enters and stumbles. Kotoha identifies him as Akihiko Nirei and introduces him as another first-year student, just like Sakura.

In the second installment of Wind Breaker, Sakura and Nirei get acquainted with each other, leading to humorous moments as they discuss Sakura’s unique hair and eye hues. Nirei expresses admiration for his seniors and their efforts in safeguarding the town of Furin, prompting him to question why someone without any connections to the town would choose to relocate there.

Sakura affirms his determination to achieve the number one position, stating that it would be amazing to be recognized as a true hero who defends the town. He also expresses his belief that his ultimate fulfillment will come from surpassing all of his fellow heroes. In response, Nirei jokingly warns him not to set his sights too high, as he may end up balding if he does so.

In episode 2 of Wind Breaker, Sakura suggests that they go outside and fight, but Nirei explains that he needs to do some patrols before the entrance ceremony because he is starting his journey as a hero of justice today. Sakura and Kotoha later talk about Nirei, with Sakura mentioning that his personality may lead him to back out of a real fight, as she has witnessed in the past.

Kotoha initially asks Sakura if he is aware of the color of a coffee fruit, to which he responds that he is not. She then reveals that it is red and has a smooth texture, similar to a cherry. Kotoha explains that she was also unaware of this and highlights the importance of not limiting oneself to a single perspective. She encourages Sakura to try Nirei, stating that his initial perspective and opinion may be incorrect.

Despite being in the second episode, Wind Breaker manages to deliver a hilarious moment when Sakura questions Nirei’s fighting abilities, as it appears to be the only thing he truly values. As a Furin student and participant in the recent altercation, Sakura is offered complimentary bread from a nearby bakery. In typical tsundere fashion, he initially turns it down, but ultimately gives in and accepts the food.

As he makes his way towards the entrance ceremony, Sakura’s arms are filled with bags and boxes from various shops in town. He reflects on whether he had wrongly assumed that the townspeople would not be friendly towards him, but his thoughts are interrupted when someone asks for his assistance.

In episode 2 of Wind Breaker, the focus shifts to Nirei, who finds himself in a precarious situation with a group of troublemakers he encountered while on patrol. Despite being outnumbered and already beaten, Nirei refuses to back down and grabs onto their leader in an attempt to stop them. He warns them that the Bofurin will not tolerate their kind, but the hooligans simply scoff and continue to attack him.

Just as he is about to deliver a crushing blow to Nirei, Sakura suddenly appears and knocks the leader back with a powerful kick. Nirei questions Sakura’s reason for saving him, to which Sakura responds by saying he simply despises those who falsely believe they are strong. This statement seems to apply to both the hooligans and Nirei. Sakura swiftly defeats the hooligans before addressing Nirei again, who admits that he must be disappointed to learn that he is a Bofurin and attends Furin High School.

In episode 2 of Wind Breaker, Sakura accuses Nirei of being a poser. In response, Nirei reveals that he was frequently bullied by his classmates in middle school until someone from Furin intervened and rescued him. He confesses that he joined Furin in hopes of becoming stronger, but now considers himself a failure. Reflecting on Nirei’s previous remarks about backing out, Sakura reassures him that he is not a coward and should not label himself as weak or prone to tears.

Upon seeing Nirei step in to help, the woman who had initially asked for Sakura’s assistance expresses her gratitude towards him. She also thanks Sakura for her assistance. Both boys are visibly embarrassed by the woman’s praises, while Nirei takes note of Sakura’s measurements and interests, stating that he enjoys collecting data on people he admires and finds interesting. Sakura responds by giving Nirei permission to continue his actions.

In episode 2 of Wind Breaker, the focus briefly switches to Furin High School as the entrance ceremony appears to be beginning. However, Sakura is seen eating because he had become hungry after their previous fight. Nirei is impatiently urging him to finish quickly. After they finish eating, the two hurry to the high school and locate the class rosters, eventually realizing they are in the same class.

Nirei notices someone in their class who he appears to be afraid of, his demeanor suddenly becoming subdued as they make their way to their classroom. He pleads with Sakura to be kind and welcoming to their classmates, explaining that as a newcomer, he may be met with negativity. However, Sakura’s response is to prepare herself for any potential confrontations.

In the second episode of Wind Breaker, Nirei begs Sakura to reconsider their actions as it could result in the entire school turning against them. Despite feeling uneasy, the two of them still enter the classroom where they are met with curious stares from their classmates. Suddenly, a student named Suo Hayato approaches them and reveals that he believes an ancient Chinese spirit resides in his eyepatched eye.

He proudly shares Sakura’s accomplishments with the entire class, causing them to have a newfound admiration for him. When they inquire about his reason for being there, Suo confidently reveals that he came to claim the top spot. As Taiga Tsugeura and Mitsuki Kiryu are introduced, the reactions of the other students to Sakura’s declaration are shown.

In the second episode of Wind Breaker, Sakura is caught off guard when Nirei introduces Kyotaro Sugishita as the most feared student in the school, as he throws a desk in her direction. Despite his attempt to punch Sakura, Sugishita ends up hitting the desk instead. The episode concludes with the two locking eyes, foreshadowing a potential showdown at the beginning of the next episode.
