Chapter 44 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword was published on August 8, 2024. As predicted, the chapter featured the epic showdown between Will Serfort and Lihanna Owenzaus against the Puppet master, who had manipulated Emma and killed Julius Reinberg. Will and Lihanna impressed with their clever tactics to overpower their adversary, but the Dark Magic user’s ultimate move changed the course of the battle.
In the preceding chapter, it was revealed that Julius met a brutal end while on his quest to find the Terminalia traitor, as discovered by Will Serfort. Despite this shocking news, Will remained calm and determined to find the culprit. After much thought, both he and Lihanna came to the realization that Emma, under someone else’s control, was responsible for Julius’ death.

Wistoria: Wand and Sword – Chapter 44: Analyzing the Puppet Master’s Tricks
Wistoria’s Wand and Sword chapter 44 opens with a flashback, in which Emma is shown experiencing trauma as she remembers the death of her brother, Ian, for which she feels responsible. Taking advantage of this vulnerable moment, the mysterious puppeteer manipulates Emma and gains control over her. As the story returns to the present, the sinister mage beckons Will and Lihanna to pursue her.
Will catches the scent of Belledors and deduces that the dark mage has been forcing Emma to collect the flowers. Meanwhile, Lihanna is shocked to see a practicing puppet spell user still alive, as they are typically sentenced to death. The mage taunts her, suggesting that the authorities must have overlooked one.
In chapter 44 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword, Will Serfort confronts the puppet practitioner in Wistoria and inquires about her affiliation with the Gohtia, her intentions, and how she managed to enter the tower. Despite Will’s inquiries, the dark mage refuses to answer and instead ridicules him.
Will and Lihanna come to the realization that they are facing a member of the remaining Gohtian faction. This is further reinforced in chapter 44 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword, where the Puppet practitioner showcases their use of Verdes Lana, a fusion of Emma’s wind magic and dark magic.
After executing Berzeme Sique: Maevlus Kadzuul, she brings forth chains from the shadows of Will and Lihanna, much to Lihanna’s surprise. The use of this unknown form of esoteric magic by the dark mage only serves to mock Will and Lihanna for their inability to conceal their shadows.
Lihanna swiftly employs her thunder magic to break free from the chains and unleashes a powerful spell, only to have the puppet practitioner use Emma as a shield. While this is happening, Will Serfort carefully studies his opponent and realizes that the chains emanating from her wand are what is manipulating Emma. The chapter then depicts the dark mage launching yet another devastating dark magic attack towards the mages.
Wistoria: Wand and Sword Chapter 44: Will and Lihanna’s Fightback is Spoiled as the Dark Mage Reveals Her Trump Card
Upon examining the puppet master, Will comes to the realization that despite possessing esoteric magic for controlling puppets, the mage has not yet used it on them. This leads him to believe that if they were to be transformed into her puppets, they would most likely face defeat. However, the fact that she has not utilized this magic implies that there must be a complex process involved in casting such a spell.
In chapter 44 of “Wistoria: Wand and Sword”, the dark mage commands Emma to unleash her Guardians against Will and Lihanna. The thunder mage quickly comes up with a plan, which Will eagerly accepts.
Lihanna utilizes Owensique Lisolde Dua, a thunder spell, to prepare and exhibit Dualus Wis alongside Will in their battle against the dark mage. Their unconventional approach perplexes the puppet master, who is unable to comprehend their superior speed compared to other thunder mages.
Will and Lihanna, working together in perfect unison, were able to free Emma from her chains. In chapter 44 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword, the story continues with Lunais, Jhorua, and other mages joining in to surround the puppet master. It is later revealed that Will had instructed Lunais and Jhorua to gather reinforcements for the battle against the powerful mage.
Despite Lihanna and the other mages’ efforts, the dark mage still finds amusement in their perceived “stupidity.”With a single spell, she controls the reinforcements and turns them into her puppets. Chapter 44 of Wistoria: Wand and Sword confirms that it is not the chains, but the scent of Belledors that is the key to this transformation.
It seems that she had already been laboring on her plan before Will and Lihanna’s arrival at the Tower. She proclaims her intention to completely destroy the Tower from its core. Will Serfort feels unable to leave his post, especially while protecting Emma. Nevertheless, the girl urgently pleads with Will to flee and save himself.
In that moment, Emma is once again under the control of the dark mage and unleashes a powerful spell at Will Serfort, causing him to be thrown backwards. The 44th chapter of Wistoria: Wand and Sword concludes with Lihanna’s horrified scream as she witnesses Will’s severely injured state.
