The end credit scene of Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 8 showcased a horrifying scene, as two unknown beings ruthlessly beheaded a mage in the depths of a dungeon. One of the mages was seen without a head, with only a magical mist emanating from the empty space where it should have been.

The hooded mage, known as Marze according to the manga, expressed his frustration at being sent to retrieve the “goods”from the dungeon during the students’ festival. He felt compelled to resort to violence in order to complete his task.

Based on Fujino Omori’s manga, the Headless Mage and Marze are the remaining members of the Gohtia organization, a perilous group of mages who caused the catastrophic event known as the Dooms Day’s Descent approximately a decade ago. This event ultimately led to the demise of the then-current Magia Vander.

Despite the organization being believed to have been destroyed, a few of their followers persevered and continued to strategize for their next move. Marze and the Headless Mage were tasked with retrieving a set of weapons known as Mage Killers from the depths of the Dungeon. These specialized swords have the ability to neutralize magic and strike down any mage with contempt.

Gohtia’s ultimate goal is to manufacture a large number of Mage Killers and have their wicked sentinels wield them against the Magia Vanders in order to eliminate them. While it was not disclosed in Wistoria: Wand and Sword episode 8, Marze and the rest of the Gohtia members are determined to shatter the makeshift sky crafted by the Magia Vanders, thus returning the world to an eternal state of darkness.

To achieve their goal, the group intends to focus their efforts on Terminalia, the day when the Magia Vanders reconstruct the barrier safeguarding the sky. Marze, Headless, and the rest of the Gohtia mages have devised a plan to unleash the most powerful malevolent sentinels from the Dungeon onto the surface during Terminalia, causing widespread chaos and devastation.

The members of Gohtia intend to entice the Magia Vanders into defending the citizens in order to subsequently eliminate them with the Mage Killer weapons.
