Episode 7 Recap of Wistoria: Wand and Sword

The episode begins with Sarissa, Elfaria’s aide-de-camp, requesting her to assess a list of recommended talents from the Ice Faction’s scouts. After careful consideration, the faction has determined that Julius Reinberg possesses the greatest potential among the talented mages to succeed Elfaria.

After that, the scene shifts to the Grand Magic Festival, where Will Serfort and his teammates come face to face with Julius and his team. Julius, an ice mage, creates a smokescreen and launches attacks at Will from every direction. It doesn’t take long for Will to realize that there are a total of five Julius present in the stadium.

In order to immobilize Will, the ice mage causes one of his clones to detonate in front of him. This incident unveils the name of Julius’s spell, Ars Weiss, which grants him the ability to manifest living ice sculptures of himself.

Evidently, the spell is part of El Glace Frosse, a collection of 12 covert ice magic techniques created by Elfaria Albis Serfort in order to attain the title of Magia Vander. Ars Weiss is the initial spell of the 12. The episode exposes that Julius Reinberg independently acquired the spell.

Despite only being able to utilize a small portion of their abilities, Julius believes he has achieved the status of a Magia Vander. However, his derogatory remarks about Elfaria enrage Will. In response, the young boy charges at Julius, but is quickly ensnared in the ice mage’s cage. Julius then unleashes Xelunea Caulis, a powerful ice attack, upon him.

To Julius’s surprise, Will Serfort manages to survive the attack. Despite being magicless, the boy is able to counter the Ice mage’s spells and render his two team members unable to fight. As a result, the ice clones disintegrate. It becomes apparent that Julius has not yet mastered Ars Weiss.

Julius relied solely on his teammates’ amplification magic to sustain the clones. Meanwhile, Will informs him that Elfaria had created Ars Weiss when she was just two years old. This shocking revelation completely shatters Julius, leaving him feeling utterly humiliated.

Despite the blow to his pride, he manages to summon eight clones instead of four. However, Will discloses his past experience of taking on ten Elfaria clones during his childhood. The scene then portrays Will Serfort expertly defeating each ice clone before delivering a forceful punch to the real Julius’s face.

Despite Will’s impressive performance that leaves the spectators in awe, Wignall’s team ultimately claims victory in the race by reaching the crown before Julius. As the episode concludes, Will and Colette exchange a smile, acknowledging the unexpected outcome.
