Witchfire, the first-person dark fantasy RPG shooter from The Astronauts, is set to launch on Steam this month, September 2024. Although it will be in early access for at least another year, the game is now free from the Epic Games Store and can take advantage of all the fantastic features offered by the Steam client and store. The developers have confirmed that Witchfire will support the Steam Deck from day one.

The Astronauts have announced that Witchfire will be available on Steam in early access starting on September 23, 2024. They also shared some exciting details in their announcement post.

While the Steam Deck support has been confirmed, the specifics about optimizations made for the device remain unclear, and it’s uncertain how this version will perform.
The Steam Deck already provides a solid gaming experience, with many videos available on YouTube demonstrating the Epic Games Store version running well on the device with a balanced mix of settings and XeSS enabled.
