Witchfire: Comprehensive Guide to All Stats and Their Functions

Witchfire: Comprehensive Guide to All Stats and Their Functions

Witchfire merges elements from the souls-like, extraction, and roguelite genres, placing RPG shooter mechanics at the forefront. A fundamental aspect of souls-like titles is the character leveling system, and Witchfire follows suit. At the beginning of the game, you’ll select a class, each characterized by a distinct set of stats, allowing customization of your upgrades as you advance according to your preferred playstyle.

This guide will delve into the various stats present in Witchfire, outlining their functions and providing insights on how to enhance them effectively.

Understanding Witchfire Stats and Attributes

Vitality

Vitality defines your total health points and dictates the length of your health bar. Investing in this stat will enhance your survivability, making it more challenging for enemies to take you down.

Regardless of your chosen class, we highly recommend prioritizing Volatile Witchfire—the in-game currency for upgrading—by directing it towards Vitality. This strategy will decrease the likelihood of frequent deaths and enable you to complete expeditions successfully, earning greater rewards in a shorter time frame.

Healing

Enhancing your Healing stat increases how effectively your character can recuperate. You can regain health through Elixirs and mushrooms gathered on your journeys. Initially, using an Elixir won’t fully restore health, but increasing your Healing stat will change that over time.

It’s also worth noting that using an Elixir doesn’t provide an instant health boost; rather, your health will gradually regenerate, and a higher Healing stat will accelerate this process.

While it’s advisable to allocate a point or two into Healing, other stats like Endurance and Witchery should take precedence for more significant advantages. Nonetheless, don’t completely disregard Healing, especially as you progress to Gnosis I and beyond, where enemies deal substantially more damage and efficient healing becomes critical for survival.

Endurance

While health and healing speed are essential, your stamina is equally important. Low stamina can hinder your ability to maneuver and endure, as it affects more than just your running capabilities.

A greater stamina pool allows for improved jumping, enhanced dodging capabilities, faster recovery, and a more fluid approach to evading assaults from adversaries. Conversely, a scant stamina meter may lead to a quick demise, particularly against numerous foes at the initial difficulty level.

We strongly advocate for upgrades to your Endurance stat in tandem with Vitality. A longer health meter is vital for staying in the game longer, while heightened stamina enhances your endurance in combat.

Witchery

In Witchfire, firearms are your main means of dispatching foes, yet spells can also provide a significant advantage. However, spells have cooldown periods, preventing their frequent use compared to your regular weapon fire.

Boosting your Witchery stat notably decreases your spells’ cooldown times. Once upgraded sufficiently, both light and heavy spells will become available much sooner.

It’s crucial to remember that spells won’t regenerate if you’re inactive. To recharge them, you must remain engaged by performing melee attacks, defeating enemies, or carrying out other in-game tasks.

Metanoia

The Metanoia stat is linked to the accumulation of Volatile Witchfire—the key currency for upgrades in Witchfire. A higher Metanoia level signifies a greater yield of Volatile Witchfire upon defeating enemies or consuming Absorb Manifestations.

Although this stat may not require early upgrades since its initial benefits are minimal, consider saving improvements until later in the game, when it’s harder to amass Volatile Witchfire.

Luck

Luck is often an elusive stat in souls-like games, typically influencing the rarity, quality, or abundance of items you acquire throughout your runs. In Witchfire, enhancing your Luck stat boosts your loot opportunities, providing more frequent ammo drops—including demonic ammunition—and increasing treasure rates, particularly at higher difficulty levels.

Although Luck has passive effects during your expeditions—unlike the more active benefits from Vitality, Endurance, Healing, and Metanoia—it’s best to improve this stat once your other stats have reached considerable levels.

This is primarily because, as you upgrade stats more frequently, the costs associated with future enhancements will escalate significantly. Higher Luck stats offer minimal survival advantages during expeditions.

Leveling Up Stats in Witchfire

To upgrade your character stats in Witchfire, you’ll need to visit the Ascension Shrine located within the Hermitorium. The currency used for these enhancements is referred to as Volatile Witchfire.

You can acquire this currency by vanquishing enemies during your expeditions. Elite and minor enemies occasionally drop Witchfire shards, which contain Volatile Witchfire, but remember that you must consume these shards to collect the currency. It’s advisable to do this after returning to the Hermitorium.

With every upgrade, the cost for subsequent enhancements increases significantly, which can make farming for Volatile Witchfire feel tedious. To streamline the collection process, you’ll need to enhance the game’s difficulty by unlocking Gnosis I and subsequent levels.
