The morale system used in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is not unique. It has also been used in Shadow of Mordor and other Soulslike games. While this may not be new, how this system levels out and stays high could be an initial scenario for experienced players.
Once players understand the general morality and resilience system, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty can become a much simpler game. Players with a favorite build will want to use this to keep their unique playstyle relevant, no matter the difficulty of the opponent they face.
Morality
- Increases damage dealt.
- Reduces damage taken.
Simply put, the higher the character’s morale, the more damage he can deal and take less damage. Morale starts at zero, which explains why the first minion can kill more enemies than the last boss. A good combination of characters early in the game can help fill this gap.
The maximum morale value is 25. Usually, players will not be able to reach this value in one run. To get the best chance of defeating the end boss, players can save the game and return to previous enemies to increase morale to the maximum level. Built-in gems will also help increase the character’s morale.
It is important to remember that morality affects not only the players, but also the enemies. The higher the enemy’s morale, the more damage he can deal and the less damage he can take.
Fortitude
- The minimum morale a character can have on the battlefield.
Fortitude is the lowest amount of morale a player can have. Upon death, players will return to their original durability. It can be increased by collecting War Flags and Marking Flags. While completing the quests to obtain all the flags is a task completed, each character who can die should strive to do so in order to increase their resilience. For example, players who have collected all the flags in the mission “Two Knightly Heroes” will find that their stamina will not drop below twenty.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
