Valorant announced the launch of its console beta on June 14th. The beta was initially available for Xbox and PlayStation users in specific regions. Despite initial expectations for it to last a month, the Limited Console Beta has surpassed six weeks and is ongoing. Unfortunately, there will be some temporary modifications going forward.
Riot Games has stated that the ranked and competitive queues for Valorant Console Beta will be temporarily unavailable. This brief pause will result in a reset of players’ ranks. The purpose of this downtime is to make improvements to various aspects of the game, including Valorant Premier.
Competitive & Ranked Mode
The competitive queue for Valorant Console Beta was launched on June 25th alongside Patch 9.00. Ever since, players have been working hard to climb the ranks. As a result, there has been disappointment among many with this latest update.

On July 30th at 6 AM PT, competitive queues on both PC and console were temporarily disabled. During this time, Valorant took the opportunity to update its offerings, including Valorant Premier and more. PC players were able to access the ranked queue again just an hour later.
Despite the fact that console players will have to wait until August 2nd at 9 AM PT for competitive mode, this date is only an estimate. Any potential obstacles encountered by the team at Riot Games could potentially result in a further delay of the relaunch.
Rank Reset
The team observed that the rank reset on Valorant Console Beta was necessary due to various factors. One of these factors was the sudden influx of players after the beta went open, which resulted in a significant change in overall performance. Additionally, the addition of Icebox to ranked play also played a role in the decision to reset ranks.
Riot Games has not yet provided an explanation for the longer downtime experienced by console players compared to their counterparts on PC.
Players on Xbox and Playstation can continue to enjoy game modes such as Unrated, Swift Play, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and customs.
