During a recent interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Tang Wei spoke about her experience working on the film “Wonderland”directed by Kim Tae-yong. She also mentioned exchanging letters with IU and shared, “I tend to take my time in processing my emotions while on set. I fully immerse myself in my performance and it’s only afterwards that I am able to fully feel the emotions from that time.”
In February, Tang Wei made an appearance in the music video for “Shh..”which was part of IU’s sixth mini-album. Afterward, Tang Wei wrote a letter to IU and sent it to her. IU responded by sharing photos of the letter on her Instagram with the caption, “Shortly after the filming, I received a letter and photos from my senior, Tang Wei.”
Tang Wei reminisced, “It was the day before Lunar New Year, and all the feelings I had been suppressing suddenly overwhelmed me. That’s when I made the decision to pen a letter. I was pleasantly surprised when IU responded with a handwritten letter, full of sweetness. I cherished the black sweater she had gifted me throughout the winter; it kept me warm all season. Her eyes are truly captivating.”
The movie “Wonderland”tells the story of connecting with a loved one who has passed away or is far away through a video call. It is helmed by acclaimed director Kim Tae-yong, whose previous works include “Family Ties”and “Late Autumn.”
In the movie, Bai Li (played by Tang Wei) is a mother who utilizes the Wonderland service to conceal her passing from her daughter.
“The release date for “Wonderland”is scheduled for June 5th.”
