World of Warcraft Classic: Darkmoon Faire Guide

World of Warcraft Classic: Darkmoon Faire Guide

World of Warcraft features a variety of activities and events to keep players entertained, and one of the most popular is the Darkmoon Faire, a touring carnival. This one-of-a-kind event takes place once a month in three different places, and the Faire, like a true traveling carnival, provides games, prizes, and other incentives in return for special money.

The Darkmoon Faire in World of Warcraft trades tickets for prizes, and there are various daily missions that players may do to acquire as many as possible. The Faire is only here for a week, but it will return next month, and collecting all those valuable tickets will need more than one trip.

The following tutorial is designed exclusively for World of Warcraft: Classic’s Wrath of the Lich King edition. The Darkmoon Faire following the Cataclysm expansion is significantly different, such as being in a fixed place and constantly open, while portals to the contemporary island of the Darkmoon Faire may be found at the previous fairground sites.

Locations of the Darkmoon Faire

The fair is set up in two locations in Old Azeroth and one in Outland. Every month, they cycle from Goldshire to Thunder Bluff, then to Shattrath, before returning to Elwynn’s forests.

  • The Elwynn Forest. The little forested pasture immediately south of Goldshire is conveniently accessible to Stormwind, the Alliance capital city. To visit this region, the Horde must tread lightly.
  • The Mulgore Plains. Northern Mulgore’s serene hills are tranquil and remote, close to yet separated from the high-mesas of the Tauren capital, Thunder Bluff.
  • Shattrath’s southern border. The Faire’s single neutral site, Terrokar Forest, is located outside the southern gate of Outland’s main city.

The Midway

Not all of the characters that players meet on the carnival are in the business of exchanging garbage for tickets. Some are selling unusual objects for old-fashioned gold, which are only accessible when the fair is in town. Silas Darkmoon, the proprietor, is generally by the front entrance, accompanied by bodyguards, greeting visitors.

Vendors

  • Morja: This NPC gives a mission, but it isn’t what you’d think.
  • Morja is offering a secret mission and a rare pet in exchange for a cup of Dark Iron Ale.
  • This is exclusively available in the Grim Guzzler, a bar in Blackrock Depths.

Grinding rep with the Darkmoon Faire in WotLK has little value other than changing some of the vendor pricing or counting towards one of the Exalted reputations that are part of the Crazy In The Membrane Achievement.

Decks of Darkmoon Faire Cards

These cards may be found almost anywhere in Azeroth’s open world, though they are more common in higher-level instances like Strathholme. After the addition of Inscription to the game, some items can only be made. These decks’ Aces are the most difficult to get, dropping at random from select monsters in endgame raids and fetching a small fortune on the Auction House.

To complete a set, the player must find a total of eight cards ranging from Ace to Eight in each deck. They all begin with the same goal: to deliver the cards to the Darkmoon Fortune Teller or Professor Thaddeus Paleo for a prize.
