Hero Talent trees are a significant aspect of World of Warcraft: The War Within. Among these, the Templar tree provides Paladins with an exceptional opportunity to become the most formidable wielders of light seen thus far.
The War Within expansion, like its predecessors, introduced substantial changes to World of Warcraft. A key feature of this expansion is the new Hero Talents, which enhance the existing talent system available to each class specialization.
Each class offers three Hero Talent trees, with players able to select two based on their specialization. The Druid class is an exception, featuring four trees, while the Demon Hunter has only two.
Explaining the Templar Paladin Hero Talent Tree
All Hero Talent trees adhere to a consistent structure. Each tree begins with a single Keystone talent and culminates in a Capstone talent. There are three additional rows featuring choice nodes, allowing players to customize their class based on preferences. Below is a comprehensive list of the talents available:
Templar Paladin Keystone Talent
Light’s Guidance: When you cast Wake of Ashes (Retribution) or Eye of Tyr (Protection), they are replaced with Hammer of Light for 12 seconds.
- Hammer of Light: Inflict Holy damage on your target and up to four nearby enemies. Additionally, call down Empyrean Hammers from the sky to strike three nearby foes for Holy damage. This ability costs 5 Holy Power.
First Row Templar Paladin Hero Talents
Choice Node: Templar’s Watch and For Whom the Bell Tolls
- Templar’s Watch: Hammer of Light, Wake of Ashes (Retribution), and Eye of Tyr (Protection) deal 30% increased damage against a single target. This damage diminishes by 6% for each additional target struck.
- For Whom the Bell Tolls: When you use Divine Toll, your next three Judgments deal up to 100% increased damage against a single target, reducing by 20% for each additional target struck.
Shake the Heavens: After casting Hammer of Light, you summon an Empyrean Hammer on a nearby target every 2 seconds for 8 seconds.
Empyrean Hammer: A critical strike from Empyrean Hammer inflicts 60% of its damage to nearby enemies. Enemies affected by this effect deal 5% less damage to you for 8 seconds.
Second Row Templar Paladin Hero Talents
Sacrosanct Crusade: When you cast Wake of Ashes (Retribution) or Eye of Tyr (Protection), you gain Shield of Vengeance at 10% effectiveness.
Higher Calling: The spells Crusader Strike, Hammer of Wrath, and Blade of Justice (Retribution) and Judgment (Protection) extend the duration of Shake the Heavens by 1 second.
Choice Node: Bonds of Fellowship and Unrelenting Charger
- Bonds of Fellowship: You take 20% less damage from Blessing of Sacrifice, and for each time its target takes damage, you gain 4% movement speed, stacking up to 40%.
- Unrelenting Charger: Divine Steed lasts 2 seconds longer and boosts your movement speed by an additional 30% for the first 3 seconds.
Third Row Templar Paladin Hero Talents
Choice Node: Endless Wrath and Sanctification
- Endless Wrath: Each time you call down an Empyrean Hammer, there is a 10% chance to reset the cooldown of Hammer of Wrath, allowing it to be used on any target, regardless of health status.
- Sanctification: Casting Judgment increases the damage of Empyrean Hammer by 10% for 10 seconds, with multiple applications stacking.
Hammerfall: Using Templar’s Verdict and Divine Storm (Retribution) and Shield of the Righteous and Word of Glory (Protection) calls down an Empyrean Hammer on a nearby target. While Shake the Heavens is active, this effect calls down an additional Empyrean Hammer.
Undisputed Ruling: Hammer of Light applies Judgment to its targets and grants you a 15% increase in Haste for 6 seconds (Protection). Additionally, Eye of Tyr provides 3 Holy Power.
Capstone Templar Paladin Hero Talent
Light’s Deliverance: Each time you summon an Empyrean Hammer, you gain a stack of Light’s Deliverance. At 50 stacks, casting Hammer of Light allows you to cast it again for free within 12 seconds.
