WoW players call for Cross-Faction Support for All Casual Content

The release of The War Within in August marks the beginning of a new era for World of Warcraft, as it kicks off a three-expansion saga. In light of this, the community has been discussing desired changes, such as abolishing the faction divide.

When WoW was initially launched in 2004, its main focus was on the ongoing conflict between the Alliance and Horde. After selecting a faction, players would primarily encounter members of the opposing faction in World or Instanced PvP battles.

Despite the revival of the old rivalry in Battle for Azeroth, subsequent expansions have brought the factions closer together. As a result, players from both Horde and Alliance can now participate in Mythic+ and raids together. However, they are still unable to group up for casual leveling dungeons.

In a Reddit post, a player requested for the remaining restrictions to be lifted upon the launch of The War Within.

The consensus among all respondents was unanimous, with a majority expressing the belief that the current restrictions have become arbitrary.

One person stated, “It’s a valid point. The remaining cross-faction restrictions should have been eliminated along with cross-faction guilds. It’s surprising that they are still in place even after the pre-patch.”

“Another individual chimed in, expressing their disappointment. They noted that while the next three weeks will feature normal and heroic dungeons during TWW, players will not be able to queue with their cross-faction guild members until M+ and raid content is released. It is a frustrating situation for many.”

The primary concerns arise with the older aspects of the game, which were originally created with the intention of emphasizing factional conflict. Altering this content would be an extensive undertaking, particularly due to the outdated nature of the quests.

The success of WoW Remix has recently indicated that cross-faction support will inevitably be included in the game’s future.
