The main highlight of World of Warcraft: The War Within’s pre-patch is the Radiant Echoes event, which offers a variety of rewards for players to strive for.
The Pre-Expansion Content Update, which was launched on July 23, has played a crucial role in setting the groundwork for the complete release of The War Within in August. Along with introducing the initial part of the storyline, it has also introduced several notable features, such as Warbands.
The upcoming event, Radiant Echoes, will continue until the expansion launches. During this time, players will face bosses and complete tasks to obtain Residual Memories, a new currency. These Memories can then be exchanged for exclusive rewards from newly introduced vendors.
About the Radiant Echoes Event
Radiant Echoes, as the name suggests, are recollections from Azeroth’s history that have resurfaced before the events of The War Within. These include battles against legendary foes from previous eras of the game, such as Onyxia and Ragnaros.
Radiant Echoes Locations & Rotation Explained
To locate the Radiant Echoes event, you will need to pay attention to two key factors: location and time. The event occurs in a cyclical pattern, spanning three zones, and the intervals between each rotation decrease as The War Within nears.
The three zones, in sequential order, where the event occurs are as follows:
- Dustwallow Marsh
- Dragonblight
- Searing Gorge
The frequency of zone changes varies depending on the current date and is outlined below:
- During the Radiant Echoes event, the zones change every 90 minutes from July 30th to August 5th.
- During the period of August 6th to August 12th, the Radiant Echoes event shifts locations every 60 minutes.
- During the period of August 13th to August 26th, the Radiant Echoes event switches between zones every 30 minutes.
One effective method for transitioning between each event is by utilizing the Legion Dalaran Hearthstone toy. In the basement floor of the Chamber of the Guardian, you can find portals to each event zone. Additionally, the current active event is clearly marked for your convenience.
How to Complete the Radiant Echoes Event
Prior to beginning, it is important to note that each zone has a weekly quest that offers extra currency rewards. Be sure to collect these quests from the following quest givers:
- Forgotten Hero grants the quest Broken Masquerade in Dustwallow Marsh
- Memory of a Duke grants the quest Champion of the Waterlords in Searing Gorge
- Echo of the Silver Hand grants the quest Only Darkness in Dragonblight
Once those items have been obtained, it is time to proceed with the main event. This is divided into three phases, each consisting of multiple bosses to defeat.
Phase One
The primary opponent to confront is Congealed Memories, a colossal mass that generates additional memories to engage in battle until it is vanquished. There are no significant tactics to keep in mind, so focus on swiftly defeating it to avoid the adds causing any complications.
Phase Two
During this stage, it is necessary for everyone to disperse and focus on individual objectives. After the Congealed Memories have been defeated, six Radiant Echoes will emerge on the map. Each of these locations will present a task to be completed, based on iconic quests from WoW’s past.
To enter its final phase, the event must be completed within the time limit by fulfilling all six objectives, such as defeating designated enemies, collecting specific items, and interacting with NPCs.
Phase 3
At the culmination of the event, players will engage in a final battle against one of three formidable foes who have played significant roles as antagonists throughout WoW’s extensive narrative. The specific enemy you will confront will be determined by the zone in which the event takes place, with the following encounters being possible:
- Remembered Onyxia in Dustwallow Marsh
- Remembered Ragnaros in Searing Gorge
- Remembered Lich King in Dragonblight
These simplified versions retain the same mechanics as their original counterparts and are relatively easy to manage. Defeat the boss to successfully complete the event.
