Kuro Game Studio’s latest gacha adventure, Wuthering Waves, was recently released as a free-to-play game. However, players have encountered numerous technical issues that have caused frustration within the community. These issues range from lagging and crashes to server disconnections and rubberbanding, making the game almost unplayable. It appears that Wuthering Waves requires more time to resolve these problems before it can truly be enjoyed by players worldwide.
Despite years of development, Wuthering Waves has finally been released and it has not met the expectations of most players. While the gameplay, visuals, and combat are flawless, the game’s multitude of technical problems has rendered it unplayable for some and a struggle for others.
A large number of players have voiced their concerns over high ping and connection problems, preventing them from accessing the game, joining regional servers, loading cutscenes, and simply playing Wuthering Waves. Many players, possibly in the hundreds or thousands, have faced difficulties while trying to play, with some experiencing ping as high as 1,000. Even those playing on the designated Southeast Asia server have encountered significant lag and rubberbanding. As a result, some players are unable to complete the tutorial without experiencing crashes or disconnections. Below are a few comments that were gathered from the official Discord community server for Wuthering Waves.
Additionally, the game’s maximum frames-per-second (FPS) settings are currently capped at 60, a lower number that may not meet the expectations of many PC players. These restrictions can at times make gameplay feel sluggish and hinder smooth progression through battles due to the limited FPS and resulting lag. It appears that the regional servers are struggling to accommodate the high number of players attempting to enjoy Wuthering Waves, and the game may not be fully optimized for all players at the moment, leading to these challenges.
Despite numerous minor issues, players are also experiencing problems such as a lack of controller support, clients failing to load, games not downloading correctly, account complications, glitches and shading issues, and inadequate mobile controls. It is evident that Wuthering Waves has a multitude of issues that must be addressed, hopefully in the near future.
It is common for launch days to be chaotic, so it is not surprising that there are many issues. However, it is likely that Wuthering Waves will resolve these problems in the coming days or weeks.
