Jinhsi stands out as the top DPS unit in Wuthering Waves. She boasts exceptionally high damage output with both her Skill and Ultimate, effortlessly obliterating enemies. Additionally, Jinhsi possesses the ability to fly during battles, allowing for swift evasion of enemy assaults.

Her user-friendly design and wide range of weapon choices make her suitable for players of all levels, including those who are new or prefer not to spend money on the game.

Yinlin

Kuro Games

Yinlin is the best Hybrid unit in Wuthering Waves.

Yinlin is the perfect choice for those seeking a hybrid unit that can both inflict damage and enhance the main DPS on the team. Her greatest strength lies in her ability to unleash a significant amount of damage with minimal time on the field.

Yinlin’s off-field damage is extremely high, making her effective against both bosses and mobs. In addition, her Outro skill significantly boosts DPS, making her a valuable investment for future quick swap teams. Adding her to your collection now would be a wise decision.

In addition, she excels in a free-to-play environment and is simple to master, making her a valuable option to consider.

Verina

Kuro Games

Verina is the best support unit in Wuthering Waves

If you’re seeking a formidable utility healer in Wuthering Waves, Verina is the perfect choice. The key distinction between a skilled healer and an ineffective one is the additional support they offer besides healing your team.

In addition to her healing abilities, Verina also offers party-wide buffs and DMG amplification, making her an ideal choice for any team.

Verina is a free-to-play character who can fully utilize the 5-piece Healer set. Additionally, she is straightforward to comprehend and requires minimal field time to activate her healing abilities and buffs.

A-tier characters in Wuthering Waves

Dusty

Kuro Games

Changli is an exceptional Fusion unit in Wuthering Waves.

Changli is positioned right on the border between S-tier and A-tier, making her a versatile unit. Not only does she excel as a main-DPS, but she can also function as a sub-DPS. Despite her impressive personal damage output, her buffs are even more valuable.

Changli’s Outro Skill is essential for any main-DPS unit as it offers a 20% increase in Fusion DMG and a 25% bonus for Resonance Liberation DMG. Her ability to close gaps effectively also prevents bosses from escaping, making her a valuable addition to any team.

One of her main limitations is her inability to work well with other units. Additionally, she may be difficult for new players to master, resulting in them struggling to fully utilize her abilities.

The life

Kuro Games

Jiyan is a powerful Aero DPS in the game.

When Jiyan was first released, he was considered an S-tier unit. However, he currently holds a solid A-tier ranking. His Ultimate has the ability to inflict massive damage, making him a formidable opponent. Additionally, he is user-friendly and effective against both single targets and groups of enemies.

Jiyan’s parrying skills are among the best in the game and only improve with increased investment. Additionally, he possesses strong crowd control abilities, making him highly self-sufficient.

Although he has many strengths, one downside is his heavy dependence on his Ultimate ability. It is important to consistently keep his Forte Circuit filled and his Ultimate ready whenever you switch to him, as Jiyan’s damage significantly decreases without it.

Again

Kuro Games

Encore is a highly flexible unit in Wuthering Waves.

Encore, a 5-star unit in Fusion DMG, is a formidable character with a diverse skill set. She excels in multiple roles and is known as the most versatile DPS character in the game, making her a valuable addition to any team. Although Changli is her top support, she can also synergize well with Yinlin and Mortefi.

She has impressive damage numbers and is straightforward to comprehend and use. Furthermore, Encore can be obtained early on through the starter banners or the free 5-star ticket, making her easily accessible.

Although she excels in many areas, her one weakness is her squishiness and her parrying skills, which make her susceptible to attacks on the battlefield.

Mortefi

Kuro Games

Mortefi can deal coordinated attacks in Wuthering Waves.

Mortefi is a versatile unit that excels in teams that rely on coordinated attacks. A major strength of this character is their ability to rapidly charge their Outro Skill. They possess formidable damage and can synergize effectively with nearly any heavy-hitting ally.

His kit is incredibly straightforward, allowing even a novice player to easily utilize him at the highest level. Additionally, once you acquire Waveband Sequences, he becomes even more powerful.

Despite his strengths, one drawback of this character is the lengthy cooldown on his Ultimate ability, requiring careful attention to his rotations during combat.

Sanhua

Kuro Games

Sanhua is very good in swap teams in Wuthering Waves.

Sanhua boasts the swiftest Concerto rotation in Wuthering Waves, solidifying her position as a premier unit for swap teams. Her Ultimate is highly effective and requires minimal energy, allowing for frequent use and a significant boost in the team’s overall DPS.

Additionally, she is a free unit, meaning that she is available to new players. The only drawback is that she is limited to quick-swap teams, which may not be preferred by some players.

Chinese Herbal Remedy Baizhi

A screenshot of Baizhi from Wuthering Waves
Kuro Games

Baizhi is powerful healer in Wuthering Waves.

Baizhi is currently considered one of the top support units in Wuthering Waves due to her exceptional Outro Skill, which offers a 15% DMG amplification. Additionally, her healing abilities are highly praised and she is able to effectively utilize the 5-piece Healing set.

At Waveband Sequence 5, she also has the ability to bring a character back to full health after they have been struck down by fatal damage.

Despite her strong points, she does have a drawback in that her attacks may be slower and she may feel a bit cumbersome to use at certain moments, particularly when compared to other characters such as Verina.

B-tier characters in Wuthering Waves

Havoc Rover

A screenshot of Havoc Rover from Wuthering Waves
Kuro Games

Havoc Rover is a decent DPS option in Wuthering Waves.

In Wuthering Waves, Havoc Rover may be the main character, but they still make for a decent DPS option. Their damage output is impressive, and obtaining them, along with their Resonance bands, is free. This accessibility also makes them a desirable unit. Additionally, they do not heavily rely on their Ultimate, making them simple to build.

The major issue with Havoc Rover lies in its field time and the resulting returns. In order to inflict significant damage, the Rover must remain on the field for an extended period of time; however, its output is considerably lower when compared to units in the S-tier and A-tier.

Yuanwu

A screenshot of Yuanwu from Wuthering Waves
Kuro Games

Yuanwu lacks any form of utility in Wuthering Waves.

Yuanwu is a reliable sub-DPS unit who excels as a Hybrid. He requires minimal time on the field and is straightforward to use. Additionally, he can be obtained for free, making him a viable option for all players.

Yuanwu’s low damage significantly decreases the overall damage output of the team. Furthermore, as a DEF scaling unit, he is at a disadvantage since none of the weapons in the game cater to that stat, further weakening him.

Despite being a top-tier Hybrid unit, he falls behind others due to his lack of offensive buffs.

Jianxin

A screenshot from the game Wuthering Waves
Kuro Games

Jianxian is a Martial Artist in Wuthering Waves.

Jianxin is an enjoyable character to play with in Wuthering Waves. She has decent damage and can be effectively used in the overworld. Additionally, her ability to heal and shield teammates is incredibly advantageous, especially in the early stages of the game.

Additionally, she possesses exceptional crowd-control skills, effortlessly gathering lesser foes into a single location, allowing for the DPS to efficiently eliminate them. Her Outro Skill further enhances the main DPS on the team with a Resonance Liberation DMG boost.

One issue is that Jianxin’s crowd control is ineffective against bosses and larger foes. Furthermore, her Forte Gauge is challenging to fill, rendering her healing and shielding abilities useless.

Calcharo

Calcharo using his Intro Skill in Wuthering Waves
Kuro Games

Calcharo is a very hard character to use in Wuthering Waves.

Calcharo is known as one of the most enjoyable characters in Wuthering Waves due to his impressive damage capabilities and high potential for even greater damage output. With significant investment, he becomes even stronger and pairs well with nearly every support unit in the game.

The issue is that Calcharo heavily relies on flawless rotations, and any error will result in a decrease in his damage output. He possesses a significantly high skill cap and is considered one of the most challenging characters to master.

Although Colcharo’s damage output is significant, the amount of effort required to achieve it is excessive and not typically justified.

Danjin

A screenshot of Danjin from Wuthering Waves
Kuro Games

Danjin is a high-risk, high-reward unit in Wuthering Waves.

When it comes to usage, Danjin is similar to Calcharo. She excels in combat and her 4-star unit has a remarkably high damage output. Furthermore, she is considered one of the top units for effectively utilizing The Dreamless Echo.

It is unfortunate that she is a berserker, as this means she will constantly have low health while on the battlefield. In nearly every situation, she will be dangerously close to death due to her HP loss mechanic, which is a risky strategy. Additionally, her combos are difficult to execute, making Danjin an average unit for most scenarios.

C-Tier Units in Wuthering Waves

Chixia

Kuro Games

Chixia is a ranged unit in Wuthering Waves.

Chixia is a fairly typical unit in Wuthering Waves. As a ranged unit, she is simple to operate and comprehend. Additionally, she is available at no cost, making her accessible to novice players. Her mobility also allows for effective maneuvering during battles.

Despite her low damage output and focus on single targets, she still has a high Ultimate energy cost and requires a significant amount of time on the field. Additionally, she is prone to being interrupted and lacks sufficient parrying options, leaving her highly vulnerable.

Lingyang

Kuro Games

Lingyang is the worst 5-star unit in Wuthering Waves.

Despite being a 5-star unit in Wuthering Waves, Lingyang is often considered the weakest. Although he possesses the ability to fly and has a distinctive playstyle, his kit tends to be lackluster. In comparison to other top-tier 5-star units, his damage is mediocre. Additionally, his complex combos and aerial movements make it challenging to avoid enemy attacks.

Playing him as a fighting game character allows for juggling of enemies, but this tactic proves ineffective against bosses, thus defeating the main purpose of utilizing him.

Wave

A screenshot of Aalto in Wuthering Waves
Kuro Games

Aalto does not fit well in the current meta.

Aalto is an average unit in Wuthering Waves, possessing a strong Outro Skill that enhances Aero DMG. In addition, his clones can effectively taunt enemies and create room for maneuvering in endgame battles. However, beyond this, he does not offer any further utility.

Utilizing his Forte ability in endgame content proves to be a formidable challenge. His Resonance Liberation lacks effectiveness and his overall damage output falls short of meeting the current meta standards.

Yangyang

A screenshot of Yangyang from Wuthering Waves
Kuro Games

Yangyang has good crowd control in Wuthering Waves.

Yangyang is a highly effective crowd-control unit in this game. Additionally, she offers Resonance Energy to the team, which proves valuable in challenging content. Her Waveband Sequences only add to her impressive support abilities. Furthermore, she is a freely available unit, making her easily obtainable.

Despite her role as a support, she lacks any form of damage amplification buffs and her personal damage is insufficient, resulting in a lower overall output for the team. Additionally, her crowd-control abilities are ineffective against bosses.

Ranked Units in Wuthering Waves

Taoqi

Kuro Games

Taoqi is not worth using in Wuthering Waves

Despite her ability to shield, heal, and provide buffs through her Outro skill, Taoqi is widely regarded as the weakest unit in Wuthering Waves. This is primarily due to the difficulty in utilizing her kit effectively.

Taoqi relies heavily on landing counter hits, resulting in her taking up a lot of field time with minimal return. Additionally, her attack animations are sluggish, greatly decreasing her damage potential. Furthermore, her Outro skill is not effectively utilized by any units in the game, diminishing her effectiveness in the current meta.
