WWE boss Triple H responds as London Mayor wants to host WrestleMania

WWE legend Triple H (Paul Levesque) has expressed the possibility of WrestleMania coming to London in the near future, after responding to Sadiq Khan, the city’s mayor, on social media.

London’s mayoral elections next week have become a topic of interest for British wrestling enthusiasts as Khan, the current incumbent, has revealed his plans to bring more major American sporting events to the city if he is re-elected.

“As part of his re-election campaign, Khan expressed his belief that London has the capability to host the first international WrestleMania. He also took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to emphasize this desire, which caught the attention of Levesque, the chief content officer of the promotion.”

In response to Khan, the former WWE superstar expressed cautious optimism about the possibility of a British WrestleMania after he stated, “Let’s have a discussion.”

Despite previously hosting wrestling events such as Money in the Bank and SmackDown at the O2 Arena in London last year, WrestleMania has never taken place in Britain.

Despite its international popularity, WrestleMania has primarily taken place in the USA, with only two exceptions being held in Canada. Bringing the event to the UK would be a monumental opportunity for British fans who have long stayed up late to watch the action during US prime time hours.

Despite his focus on wrestling, Khan had a broader goal of bringing other American sports to London as well. This included the Super Bowl and NBA, and he even had plans for a 2040 bid to host the Olympics in England.

If WrestleMania were to come to Britain, there is still a possibility that the event would not be scheduled at a convenient time for fans in the UK. This is in contrast to AEW’s All In event at Wembley, which was specifically scheduled to accommodate a European audience.

MMA enthusiasts were recently informed that the main card for UFC 304, taking place in Manchester this summer, will not start until 3 am local time, a fact that they are likely already familiar with.
