Xbox and Amazon Collaborate to Bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to Fire TV Devices

Microsoft and Amazon have jointly announced a formal partnership to introduce Xbox Cloud Gaming to Amazon Fire TV devices.

Starting this July, Microsoft will expand the availability of the Xbox TV app to include Amazon’s Fire TV Sticks. This will provide Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers with the ability to stream games directly to their Fire TV devices through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Currently, the app is only offered on Samsung’s recent TVs and monitors.

The Xbox app will support the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Stick 4K in 25 countries. Xbox has confirmed that popular titles such as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Starfield, Forza Horizon 5, and various games from the Fallout series will be compatible with the app.

“In recent years, our goal has been to expand cloud gaming to a wider range of devices and people worldwide,”stated Ashley McKissick, Vice President of Xbox Experiences and Platforms Engineering, in a press release. McKissick expressed excitement for the addition of Fire TV to their collection of cloud gaming devices and the opportunity to introduce new players to this experience.

To begin, you will require a few items – a Fire Stick device, a Microsoft account, and a subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Additionally, a Bluetooth controller is recommended – both Xbox and PlayStation controllers are compatible. Once everything is set up and connected, you are prepared to start streaming games.

Last December, Microsoft introduced Xbox Cloud Gaming to the Meta Quest 2, Quest 3, and Pro. Despite this, VR games were not included, forcing Quest 2 and Pro users to play their games in standard 2D mode.
