An XDefiant developer has addressed player complaints regarding bunny hopping and the game’s excessive movement abilities, offering reassurance to those who are feeling frustrated.
Despite a rocky launch, XDefiant quickly gained momentum as players flocked to the servers to experience Ubisoft’s new arena shooter after the initial server issues were resolved.
Despite being a new addition to the market, XDefiant has already received complaints from the community, particularly concerning the hit registration that is believed to require improvement.
Nevertheless, the developers have also encountered other concerns that needed to be resolved. In response to complaints about excessive jump shotting and spamming, XDefiant developer ‘ACHES’ has taken action to address these behaviors.
In XDefiant, players have the ability to constantly jump and even bunny hop during combat, making it more challenging for opponents to hit them. While this agile movement can be advantageous for navigating the map, it can also be frustrating to face in a gunfight.
XDefiant developer ACHES gave some assurance on the issue by stating that they do plan to penalize players for excessive jumping and crouching by implementing aim sway. This feature was already in place during pre-launch playtests, but was temporarily disabled for the game’s official release due to the need for further improvements.

According to a comment from a user, the beta version had a noticeable sway which was easily triggered by accident. This highlighted the need for improvements. The user also proposed implementing “fatigue on the movement itself,”to which the developer promptly replied that fatigue was already active during the preseason.
According to the XDefiant developer, there are plans for further improvements to be implemented “as soon as possible.”This means that those who are annoyed by the excessive movement may not have to wait much longer for it to be toned down.
Despite this, individuals who prefer swift movement should not worry either because the developers are committed to discovering the perfect balance between intended usage and excessive use. This will ensure that players do not feel limited. It remains to be seen how this will affect gameplay, as techniques like slide canceling have become a significant element of the game.
