XDefiant devs confirm upcoming changes to Sniper Rifle and progression system

After receiving feedback from the XDefiant community about game balance and level progression, Executive Producer Mark Rubin addressed the concerns by announcing that the team is actively working on implementing highly requested nerfs to Sniper Rifles and leveling.

The XDefiant team has received a significant amount of feedback from their active player base regarding game features that they feel are not optimized. As a result, Executive Producer Mark Rubin has personally addressed these concerns in response.

Players have consistently expressed their frustration with the level progression and season pass system, stating that they feel pressured to constantly grind in order to unlock necessary attachments for their builds. Additionally, many have voiced their belief that the game expects them to play nonstop in order to complete the Season Pass.

After being asked by a player on X (formerly Twitter) about the current state of the season pass and weapon leveling, Mark Rubin personally responded by stating that they are currently “evaluating it.”

A player named ‘Shadow’ inquired about the current state of Sniper Rifles in XDefiant, specifically their ability to maintain aim while under fire. They also asked if the developers were planning to weaken them. Mark Rubin provided a simple response of “Yes.”

Despite the majority of players reacting positively to the news of upcoming changes, some players brought up valid concerns to the developers. One player pointed out that weapons such as the MP7 still need to be balanced, while others mentioned the ongoing issue of cheaters causing frustration among players.

It is uncertain if XDefiant will continue to maintain an open line of communication in the future. For more information on the game, you can refer to our guides on building, loadouts, and leveling up quickly.
