XDefiant Year 1 Season 0.3 Update Patch Notes
The official notes from Ubisoft detail all the changes that have been made to XDefiant in the Y1S0.3 Patch. Here is a comprehensive list of these changes:
Gameplay
- Penalties for aiming have been implemented for players who excessively use the jump and crouch buttons, commonly known as jump spamming. This tactic, also referred to as the frustrating exploit of jump spamming, has varying opinions.
- In Escort mode, players can now confidently push the package without fear of their legs detaching from their torso and leaving them stranded. This was an issue that was occurring previously.
Weapons
- Several adjustments have been made to improve long-range shooting, such as a slight decrease in movement speed when aiming down the scope while holding your breath. This modification is logical when considering the mechanics involved.
- Revamped how snipers flinch when they’re tagged by enemy fire, increasing the flinch and keeping it going through multiple hits.
- Fixed a problem specific to PC where players were unable to toggle ADS after finishing a match and changing their gameplay input.
Social
- An issue specific to Xbox consoles has been resolved where the Xbox button would stop functioning on the in-game Social menu after inviting a player from that console.
- The problem of blocked players being able to read your chat messages has been resolved.
- We have made adjustments to the process of calculating ping in matchmaking, allowing you to connect with a larger pool of players who have similar ping characteristics.
- Despite being invited by someone already in the game, players were previously unable to join a nearly full game in progress. However, there is now good news as they are able to join.
- Resolved a problem where players were able to enter a game that was already in progress, despite their meticulous customization of controller and matchmaking preferences.
Netcode
- Libertad’s medical abilities were so powerful that they were using up a lot of bandwidth. However, the issue has been resolved, although her healing potency remains unchanged.
Factions
- Implemented further corrections so that Echelon players are only rendered invisible while wearing the Digital Ghillie Suit, instead of being permanently invisible. While they are meant to be stealthy, let’s not go overboard.
- The feats of Libertad battlefield medicine are still being highlighted at the end of each round, as a way to give well-deserved recognition within the peer group.
Devices
- The camera used to shake whenever nearby explosives exploded, regardless of whether or not they caused damage to the player. However, it now only shakes when the explosion results in damage to the player.
Maps
- Adjusted the positioning of flags on the Liberty map.
Miscellaneous
- Various crash fixes.
- The frequency of the “Banned for Toxicity” notification was reduced as it was assumed that those who received it were aware of their actions.
- Addressed a problem that was hindering players from utilizing abilities and devices after modifying control settings.
- The Buzzkill Achievement was previously not unlocking, but it now unlocks as intended.
- In the past, cosmetic items were only shown as available in certain locations and not in the actual location where they could be obtained. However, this issue has now been resolved.
