XDefiant Players Complain About Rampant Bunny Hoppers

Despite Ubisoft’s efforts, many XDefiant players are becoming increasingly frustrated with the persistent bunny hopping in the game. As a result, the playerbase is growing disillusioned and a significant number of players are considering quitting.

Despite Ubisoft’s initial plans to curb the issue of bunny hopping, a tactic where players continuously jump to avoid being hit by bullets, it continues to be a problem in XDefiant since its launch. Aim sway penalties for excessive jumping and crouching were intended to be introduced, but unfortunately, these changes were not implemented in the game’s release.

A developer from Ubisoft acknowledged on X that finding a balance between reducing spammy behavior and preserving natural movement was a difficult task.

The frustration among players intensified as a Reddit user posted a slow-motion video demonstrating the difficulty of fighting against bunny hopping.

“According to this XDefiant player, the purpose of the slow-motion footage is to highlight the absurdity of trying to combat a jump spammer, even when viewed at a slower pace.”

Despite their frustration, the individual expressed their disappointment in a rant and mentioned the possibility of taking a hiatus from XDefiant due to the persistent issue. They also voiced their criticism of the game’s mechanics, specifically noting the difficulty of playing against bunny hoppers on a standard 60hz TV compared to high refresh-rate monitors.

The community responded with strong criticism, arguing that bunny hopping negatively affects XDefiant’s hitboxes and netcode, creating an unfair advantage for players using aim assist or keyboard and mouse setups.

“One player commented that bunny hopping greatly affects hitboxes and netcode. Another player expressed their frustration with the developers, accusing them of lacking the necessary understanding of what it takes for a shooter to be successful.”

Several players have openly stated that they stopped playing XDefiant due to the issue of bunny hopping. They are eagerly anticipating Ubisoft’s announcement of a fix for the problem.

The persistent dissatisfaction continues to be voiced, adding to previous critiques of XDefiant such as problems with the Ranked mode and malfunctioning recoil mechanics.

Despite the developers’ efforts to address player concerns, many are still dissatisfied with the Ranked mode, with some even calling it a “hilarious train wreck.”The handling of recoil, in particular, has received heavy criticism from players. As a result, there has been a growing number of players allegedly leaving the game until they feel that it has improved.
