XDefiant Shotgun Inconsistency Needs to be Addressed by Developers

Despite a number of patches, many XDefiant players remain dissatisfied with various elements of the game, particularly the use of Shotguns which is a major source of their grievances.

In XDefiant, Shotguns have been struggling to compete with the popular Sniper and AR weapons, resulting in them being considered underpowered during Preseason. As a result, numerous players have expressed their dissatisfaction with Shotguns and have requested for them to be buffed. This sentiment has been echoed throughout the online gaming community.

In the XDefiant subreddit, a Reddit user named ‘FUSMC1998’ shared a clip of their encounter with Shotguns and expressed their opinion that they urgently require some improvements. The clip shows the OP shooting an enemy twice with their Shotgun from a reasonable distance, yet still dying.

The OP expressed their surprise, saying, “How is this even possible bro?”They were shocked that despite hitting their enemy twice at close range, they were unable to kill them. Hit registration and server netcode have been heavily debated topics in XDefiant, with some players speculating that the clip above is a result of these issues.

While some players believed that “Shotguns need a buff”in XDefiant, others suggested that the issue lies with netcode and hit registration rather than the Shotguns themselves. Since its launch, hit registration has received criticism, and many players tend to steer clear of Shotguns as a result.

Some players were surprised that Shotguns only have a “1 meter effective range” in the game, while others were impressed that the OP was able to unlock the red dot by getting enough kills.

Despite the numerous complaints about Shotguns and hit registration, as well as the ongoing issue with netcode in XDefiant, it will be intriguing to see how Ubisoft addresses these challenges.
