XDefiant Year 1 Season 1.4 Update Patch Notes

On Wednesday, August 14, the patch notes for the XDefiant Y1S1.4 update will be released and can be found at the following link: patch notes.

Gameplay

  • Previously, kill assists did not count towards a player’s ultra charge, but they do now.
  • Resolved a problem where players were being returned to the main menu after completing a Ranked match.
  • If you were unable to finish the EMP grenade Base Challenge due to progress tracking issues, attempt it again now. You should have success.

Factions

  • The Cleaners’ Incinerator Drone will not explode if it passes over a GS-Kommando’s Shock Wire belonging to an ally.

Maps

  • A bug was resolved in which players were invincible at their starting point on the second level of the National Zoo map.

Game Modes

  • Addressed an unusual bug in Zone Control where all zones would suddenly become unlocked, resulting in the attacking team winning without having to put in the necessary time and effort.

Weapons

  • The penalty for hit-flinch when aiming a sniper rifle has been further adjusted. This means that the effect of hit flinch is now more pronounced, posing a greater challenge for snipers to accurately shoot their target while under attack.
  • In other sniper-tuning news, spread reduction duration has been increased. This refers to how long it takes a sniper to focus the scope and achieve pinpoint accuracy when going into ADS, which should prevent targeted players from getting sniped before the sniper is fully scoped in. Study these spec changes:
    • M44 spread reduction duration increased by 4 percent.
    • TAC-50 spread reduction duration increased by 28 percent.
    • L115 spread reduction duration increased by 16 percent.
  • The aiming sensitivity has been decreased when using a scope to account for the change in field-of-view.
  • The Skullduggery skin now prevents the PEQ-15 laser sight from hovering alongside the AA-12 shotgun, as it did before.
  • Addressed a visual issue where the Mecha skin was causing muzzle, magazine, and weapon stock attachments to disappear.

Devices

  • An exploit that enabled players to deploy infinite devices by altering their loadouts in spawn zones has been fixed.

Netcode

  • Previously, players would still get caught by enemy sticky grenades despite attempting to avoid the trajectory. However, this is no longer the case.

Audio

  • When deploying multiple grenades in rapid succession, players will no longer experience cut off explosion sound effects.
  • The change has been implemented to enhance players’ ability to hear approaching Spiderbots, enabling them to defend against an imminent face-hugging.

Miscellaneous

  • It is now prohibited for players to continuously enter and exit the game lobby, which can be tiring. This is likely a beneficial outcome for all parties involved.
  • Before, players were unable to report or block other players on the scoreboard using mouse input. However, this functionality has now been added and is available for use.
  • Various crash fixes.

Ensure that you select the top-performing XDefiant Faction and make necessary modifications to your long-range weapon choice, as the Sniper changes may impact the current meta.
