Twitch streamer xQc has recently expressed his dissatisfaction with Epic Games, branding their decision to provide exclusive privileges to fellow streamers Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed as an “L move.” This critique emerged in the context of a demanding Fortnite marathon that the two popular streamers undertook shortly after Christmas, pledging to continue playing until they secured a victory.
Given their substantial fan followings, the inevitable risk of stream sniping loomed large. Stream sniping refers to the practice of viewers targeting a live streamer by tracking their location in real-time broadcasts, complicating gameplay for the affected streamer.
To counteract this challenge, Epic Games took the step of enabling Cenat and Speed to report and ban any stream snipers swiftly. This privilege raised eyebrows across the gaming community, particularly among fellow streamers and observers.
xQc Condemns Perceived Favoritism
Upon learning of these developments via social media, xQc vocally criticized Epic Games. “I think that’s brain-dead,” he remarked, adding, “F**k all of them for doing that. That’s an L, L Epic Games. If you give special treatment, give it to everybody. Everybody’s as valuable.”

Responding to accusations of jealousy from viewers, xQc clarified, “I’m not jealous; it’s not about jealousy. It’s an L. You either fix the game, fix your sh*t, or you help everybody, or you help no one.” His perspective has sparked varied reactions from the audience.
Supporters of xQc suggested that having experienced significant stream sniping themselves, he has a valid point. “If y’all understood the amount of stream sniping this guy used to go through, you’d see where he’s coming from,” noted one fan. On the other hand, some commenters asserted that both Cenat and Speed should employ a common solution among streamers: implementing a stream delay to thwart snipers. “Put a delay and call it a day, or give the benefit to everyone. No one is special, including these two,” one critic stated.
Conversely, several fans defended the “special treatment,” arguing that without it, the marathon would be untenable. “If they played with stream snipers, they’re never ending [the marathon],” one supporter contended. Another remarked, “He’s wrong because they are the two biggest streamers in the world playing in partnership with Fortnite—one of the biggest games ever—so it’s expected for people to stream snipe.”
Ultimately, Kai and Speed triumphed in their challenge, completing the marathon after an arduous 57 hours, enduring 206 losses before finally winning in their 207th match. The climax of the match was intense, with Kai falling in a critical 2v1 scenario, but Speed emerged victorious in a nail-biting 1v1 against the final opponent, allowing the duo to conclude their streams successfully.
Interestingly, xQc and Kai Cenat had a brief public dispute earlier in December, engaging in a display of wealth rivalry, which they subsequently resolved amicably.
