xQc trolled by Deadlock stream snipers abusing in-game feature

During the game Deadlock, some players intentionally misused one of the game’s built-in features to stream snipe xQc and provoke a reaction from the streamer.

A video clip uploaded to YouTube on August 30 features xQc deploying early in a match, only to be immediately interrupted by another player using pauses.

“After only eight seconds, he questioned why someone would join a game and immediately pause. He was about to express his frustration when the match suddenly resumed, cutting off his words as someone else caused another delay.”

Despite delivering a hattrick of pauses, xQc’s plea of “Guys, guys, actually f**king stop”went unheard as the trolling persisted.

For those who may not be familiar, Deadlock, similar to Valve’s other MOBA, Dota 2, permits players in a match to pause the game for all participants. The pause will end automatically after a designated time or if the person who initiated the pause chooses to resume the game.

Even though the system may already be well-known to fans of Valve-developed titles, it has proven to be a unique addition for those who are not familiar with it.

Not surprisingly, Deadlock’s immense popularity, even during Closed Alpha, has led to a high number of users exploiting the feature. This has reportedly resulted in Valve issuing permanent hardware bans to individuals caught engaging in such behavior.

Despite being in development, it is uncertain whether Deadlock will include the ability to pause. At this early stage, everything is subject to change and the initial feedback from streamers has been varied.

Despite conducting his own hands-on experience, Twitch streamer Shroud expressed confidence in Deadlock’s potential for domination. However, Summit1G remained unconvinced and maintained his belief in Blizzard’s Overwatch as the superior game.
