xQc: Twitch Forced Me to Attend Therapy Session to Get Unbanned

During his stream, xQc stated that a Twitch employee had required him to attend a therapy session in order to have his ban from the streaming platform lifted.

On April 19, xQc was live streaming on Kick while playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 with TrainwrecksTV and Adin Ross. During the stream, he stated that Twitch had required him to attend therapy in order to continue using their platform.

Throughout the stream, the group engaged in several matches together, resulting in the typical CoD banter and competitive spirit. This included TrainwrecksTV and xQc playfully boasting about their wealth and getting into a friendly argument over who was wealthier.

Moreover, the group also engaged in conversations about several popular subjects within the streaming community. One significant topic revolved around Adin Ross’ recent permanent ban from Twitch, which has sparked much discussion due to his self-proclaimed “retirement.”

Despite being a repeat offender, Ross was unable to learn from his mistakes and was ultimately banned from Twitch in 2023. However, he managed to secure a role as a brand ambassador for Kick and rapidly gained recognition as the main representative of the competing platform.

When Trainwrecks was asked for advice on how to get unbanned, he responded, “I believe it’s quite simple to get unbanned, to be honest… Just communicate with them.”Ross then questioned, “Do I need to attend therapy?”

Although xQc’s question was meant as a joke, he still added his input by stating, “They actually had me go to therapy once,”and asserted that he was required to attend “one session with a Twitch employee, which was like a therapeutic session to check in with them.”

During the questioning by the two streamers, he elaborated, “The ban was due to the gorillas, or something similar… like a gorilla briefly engaging in sexual activity.”

The origin of this ban dates back to 2021 when xQc received a permanent ban from Twitch for falling into a viewer’s trap and watching an intimate video. Despite the video only being displayed for a brief moment, it violated the guidelines of the platform, resulting in his swift banishment.

These guidelines have frequently been altered, with multiple changes already occurring in 2024. Despite this, xQc has managed to avoid any bans on Twitch for the past three years and has never been banned on Kick. Throughout his streaming career, he has received a total of five bans from Twitch.
