xQc has asserted that he can “revolutionize” the esports landscape if given the opportunity, with his ambitious plan focusing on increased co-streaming and simplified access to betting.
While many recognize him as a leading streamer, xQc had a successful career as a professional gamer prior to that. He was a key player in the inaugural Dallas Fuel roster in the Overwatch League and garnered a reputation as one of the top Western main tanks during that era.
Today, xQc is well known as a streamer, yet he remains engaged with the esports community, whether through co-streaming CS2 Majors or exploring the possibility of acquiring a Valorant team in 2023.
When asked about his vision for advancing the esports industry, xQc presented a comprehensive strategy.
xQc is confident that co-streaming, similar to tarik’s involvement with VCT, will significantly benefit the esports industry.
During a Q&A stream on September 8, xQc addressed various queries about esports, including how he would contribute to the sector’s improvement.
xQc stated, “I’ve literally said the industry is struggling… even before the Overwatch League days it was struggling.”
His strategy for revitalizing the industry centers around “watch parties, [co-streaming], and potential live betting with live viewing… Some of these elements resonate at the heart of the most social activities we engage in as humans.”
Although he acknowledged the controversial nature of the gambling aspect of his proposal, xQc compared it to the digital equivalent of visiting a sports bar to watch football with friends, but with the added layer of engaging with streamers and personalities.
He emphasized that while the esports industry has recently begun to embrace co-streams, progress has been slow, stating it has been moving at a “turtle pace” and should have been expedited.
“That is the biggest block that would loosen up the tight financial constraints in esports. I could revolutionize the scene if I were in charge, but I’m certainly aware that there are many complexities I may not fully grasp as an outsider.”
