It’s the weekend in Destiny 2, and that means Xur has returned. This enigmatic vendor is ready to sell a selection of Exotics from the game’s expansive arsenal.
The Final Shape expansion has introduced exciting new features to Bungie’s looter shooter, including the Prismatic subclass and a revamped Xur system.
Xur now arrives weekly to offer not only Exotic weapons and armor but also enhanced services and a broader selection of gear for players to purchase.
This rework aims to reignite excitement around Xur’s visits, making them an essential part of the Destiny 2 experience.
Where is Xur today?
From September 13 – 17, Xur can be found in The Tower’s Bazaar, located in a small alleyway to the right of the Ramen Shop. With the changes made in The Final Shape, this will be Xur’s permanent residence.

Xur’s vendor rank rewards
Xur now features a rank-up system allowing players to earn additional rewards. To enhance Xur’s rank, players simply spend Strange Coins on his weekly offerings, which are earned through completing various activities.
For ranking up Xur, you can receive the following rewards:
- Rank 4: Enhancement Core (x7) or Enhancement Core (x3)*
- Rank 7: Enhancement Prism (x3) or Enhancement Prism (x1)*
- Rank 10: Exotic Engram (x2)
- Rank 13: Ascendant Shard (x1) or Enhancement Core (x5)*
- Rank 16: Ascendant Alloy (x1) or Enhancement Prism (x2)*
- Reset Rank: Exotic Cipher (x1)
*Alternative reward only available after the first reset of each Act.
Xur now has a rank-up system that rewards Guardians for purchasing his gear and services.
When will Xur next return?
Xur is here until September 17 and will return on September 20 with new Exotic and legendary gear.
While Xur’s selections rotate weekly, he consistently has an Exotic Cipher quest available, which can be stacked up to five at a time, making it worthwhile to complete weekly.
The quest involves completing multiple activities, including Strikes, Crucible, Gambit, and the Exotic Mission Rotator. Completing this quest is essential for claiming old Exotic weapons from the Exotic Kiosk.
